Alexis’s brow furrowed at the quite blatant change of topic.
~Fine. Have it your way. As always.~
Somehow though his words had actually managed to placate her anger to a degree, even still owing her an answer.
They had to return to the matter at hand somewhere down the line, he had a point there. Might as well be now.
So after a pause, she picked up her bowl again, despite her appetite being nonexistent by now.
“He is clever and resourceful. I very much hope he can get it done. As should you, ‘cause as I have hopefully made perfectly clear I am very new to the heist business.”
She sighed.
“I did spend quite a bit of time in the Keep when I first got here. That might help. Definitely not the superior option, that’s for sure.”
Alexis thought about what other options to sneaking in there might be, but came up blank.
She couldn’t imagine asking for an audience with the Duke - unlike the Friar he probably gave chac about her, if he even remembered her. And given their last encounter that was the optimistic assessment.
That and she was neither a noble nor an influential citizen to be considered for an audience anyway.
And even if somehow he would agree to talk, what would she even talk about?
All in all, as she said, she very much hoped that Tarmen could pull it off.
