Spirit of the Mountain

Tar nodded. Indeed that was only part of the tale of his last few years. He couldn't help but think it fell like a lifetime ago already.

"I reached Fang, two or three weeks after leaving Ostiarium behind. There was nothing left here for me. And I felt my god had abandoned me while the last vestiges of the drug courses through my veins..." He said as a small spasm ran through his body. Even after all this time to think of the drug brought a longing difficult to explain.

Those that partook of Felfar knew that its effects were deeply spiritual. There was little doubt in his kind that it it was a conduit into the Gods and unseen realms.

"One or two days in, while I camped trying to ride the freezing weather,.a small child came to me." He said remembering the experience. "It appeared out of nowhere. It was crying, seemed lost. He was holding a bone. After I shared the little food I had with him, the next day he led me to one of the ancient Fire-Shrines that cover the cliffs and mountains of Fang. Not far from Maru."

Tar ran his hand through his horse's mane, patting the beasts powerful neck.

"The child who I believed to have been separated from its parents, placed the bone on the old cracked altar. Somehow I felt compelled to do the same and placed a small offering myself."

He paused sighing.

"A flame burst into live in the cold stone, springing to life out of nothing. That is when the world turned and spun from under me. When Fosia came to me..."
