Small Steps Toward Home

JP with Omni and Lorem

Gonyaul and Voah followed after the traveling convoy. True to their word, several miles later the nomads had stopped and looked to begin setting up a temporary camp. At this time Gonyaul and Voah dismounted and began walking, with horses in tow, into the outer perimeter being setup. Gonyaul was holding Voah’s hand, not just to display that they were together, but because it gave him such delight to touch her whenever he got the opportunity.

He smiled optimistically as the two walked into the camp, actively looking for someone in charge to come meet them. “I feeling going to be good.”

"I pray you are right because the look of things gives me homesickness." she said in quiet agreement.

Gonyaul had been wondering if this would spark memories for Voah and her days with the Grand Revelry. He smiled and brought her hand up to his mouth and gave the back of it a sweet kiss.

What she had shared about it so far sounded wonderful. He hoped she would continue to bring up stories about it as their romance grew deeper.

“Maybe no sick home be if we make new home that is like? The fox and rabbit in little traveling revelry?”

He liked the sound of the idea and his imagination was already enjoying it.

The suggestion brought Voah a sense of longing as she took a breath of hopeful exhilaration, but she doubted if the idea was even possible with the war and the influx of the Inquisition.

It would likely be years down the road before she would be forgotten by the people of Ostiarium.

“Ajantii! I will restlessly await the day that can become a reality. Let us talk more about the idea of home, yai’Bujah…” she used the Mizaran term for ‘my darling’.

“And let us make small steps toward it, nnn?”

Gonyaul blushed. It was the way the Mizaran words rolled off her tongue, coupled with the understanding that they were specially designed for him.

Seeing how the idea energized her body language and took flight behind her eyes, made Gonyaul even more determined to figuring out a creative solution to make such wanton dreams a reality for her.

“Very much yes.” The idea that they would be working hand in hand, and heart in heart, together to build a home and life filled his view on the future with joy.
