Partial success

JP with Winteroak and Bandorchu

There was a very uncomfortable silence that stretched across the table where they sat.
In life, it's often easy to judge others from the lofty grounds we believe we stand. And more often than not we truly don't know what we are capable of until we are placed in someone else's shoes and thread their own paths.

The hurt and betrayal was palpable between the two men. Friar Balvaris had many questions for his former acolyte. A man he believed to have died in the wilds of Arcadia when madness descend on the settlers that first winter. Tar on the other hand knew questions would only lead back to reliving the pain and blood of those days and he had no inclination to do so.

A void seemed to stretch between the two men with only Alexis drawing a bridge between the two.

"What do you want?" The Friar finally asked breaking the silence, casting an eye on Alexis wondering what this was all about, where she had found Tar and how much she knew of what had happened.

Given the apparent relationship between those two, Alexis opted to choose her words very carefully.
She gestured to the sullen man.

“I met Tar in the Fang where, to my knowledge, he has been exploring and researching the ruins of the old Odonine.”
She offered in ways of explanation.

“Two of my companions have gone missing in the mountains. He has already been of great help to rescue one of them, and is willing to assist with finding the other. He has, however, asked for my help in turn beforehand.”

That was the favourably worded version.

“He has come to be interested in a particular artefact. One that, according to his sources, has somehow found his way here, to Ostiarium.”

She looked back to the Friar.

“Judging by what you have been able to provide when we were investigating the Creed, you might have access to some more obscure sources. So it is my hope you’ll be able to help us find what Tar’s looking for. Why don’t you describe what it looks like?“

She requested, turning her attention back to Tar.

The Friar listed intently to Alexis words. So much that he wanted to ask but dared not.

"A map." Tar replied looking at Alexis. "Carved in the tusk of some beast."

The Friar sighed. He immediately knew what they meant. An interesting artifact that he had been presented with, by a small travelling tribe a few years ago. He hesitated. But eventually bowed is head. He would ask no more questions

"I have it. Well part of it..." He said making Tar sit straight in his chair.

"What do you mean part of it?" He asked worried and confused.

“Are you fucking kidding me…”
Alexis cursed under her breath.

Tar’s confusion did not bode well. This was becoming a never ending scavenger hunt.
