Armat Caravanserai - Fang
Shalia & Islana - You ride a well-worn path towards your destination, the cliffs and gorges that make up most of Fang giving away to rolling hills and verdant valleys. To your right you see the Kak'tak river, snaking languidly across the land, making its eternal journey from the glacial peaks of the mountains towards the Great Oasis in the Desert of Skulls, where it finally ebbs into the margins of the Holy city of Gra'akast. Home to the ancient order of notorious priest-sorcerers of the Ozainae, the Air-Weavers of Viher and the Water-Bearers of Yther.
These are the lands of the Ihlara, the third largest Odonine clan. The air is much warmer than in the mountains, there is more life around you as well as you ride towards the Armat Caravanserai. The Ihlara have vast farming plateaus and tend to large herds of goats and wild horses. Semi-troglodytic houses dot the landscape, boxy, stone buildings with flat roofs and large arched doorways, which are diferent from anything else among the other clans.
Throughout the years, this verdant valley has constantly changed with the tides of invaders that have swept the land. The Ihlara are known as the Sand Breakers, having always been the first line of defenceagainst the Desert of Skulls Septs and thus have a very unique culture and nuanced differences from the rest of the Odonine.
Up ahead in the distance you see the majestic Armat Caravanserai. Numerous farming communities are located around it and along nearby streams and the river Kak'tak. You watch as reapers wield scythes tending to crops, as others tend to nearby irrigation canals. People in your wake pay little attention to you, as your coming has been announced in the winds days prior, as your guards have whistled messages of your coming long before you set foot on the lands under Ihlara control.
The Armat Caravanserai is almost like a city of old. A reminder of whom the Odonine were centuries ago that still remains an important centre of trade and commerce, attracting merchants, tradesmen and skilled artisans. You admire its old architectural lines and imposing presence at the end of the valley. None of the other ruined forts you have passed in your journey here can compare and now you understand the feat of engineering building these Caravanserai once was. As you ride towards the large fort you see a group of Odonine men awaiting your arrival...
