07.20: Dead Girl

Whilst it was not possible to understand Dee's personal trauma, she had seen enough in her time at the Institute and her interactions with mutants that she could certainly empathise. One girl she and Charles had met was little more than a brain in a saggy bag of boneless flesh, unfortunately her condition was terminal. Charles had known she was aware and fiercely intelligent but medicine could not save her.
"Seriously Dee, if you want to vent and scream and smash some stuff I can set that up for you. No problem. Before coming here I used to go home to my apartment in Dc and beat the living crap out of a boxing punch bag with a kendo stick. The bag had a picture of my boss' face on it. And I had a stack of spare prints of his ugly mug because one was rarely enough."
Val's phone buzzed in her hand. "One sec."
"Val?" It was Bernice who Dee had met downstairs.
"Not a problem, little bit of a freak out," Val said quirking a grin at Dee.
"Thanks Val. Let me know if I am needed."
"Will do Benny. Bye."
Val stood and slipped the phone away. "Back in a moment." When she returned she was carrying a small plastic bin and a dustpan and brush. "I think this will be more suited to clearing that up. When we are done there's a Vax in a utility cupboard down the hall to get all the tiny pieces up. FYI, we don't have much a cleaning staff here so we tend to keep our own spaces clean."
