Looking Up
Tam awoke to the sound of Kent's phone ringing and tried to go back to sleep, assuming it was Kent's work or that doctor checking in on him. But then her eyes snapped open when she heard his hushed, firm, tone.
"Look, I left...let it go. Let me go and fuck off."
Tam's mind immediately went to that man they'd seen at the mall. She balled her hands into fists, taking the bed sheets with them as her anger rose. She knew this would happen. She just knew it. Life was intent on stealing the happiness she fought so hard for once again, and she'd be damned if she let it!
Once Kent got off the phone she forced herself to relax before turning to look at him, trying to feign sleepiness with lowered eyelids and a fake yawn. "Who was that, sweetie?" She said in a lazy tone. She wanted to see if Kent would be honest. She prayed he would. Prayed that he meant it when they said they were in this together.
She'd do anything for him.

Jonah shrugged. "When's the best time for you?" He asked. He was still in a bit of a tizzy at the fact that this cute girl was interested in having dinner with him. It'd been a long time since he'd been with anyone. He had Lisa to look after, and he'd done everything to make sure she was taken care of.
Yet he'd let his own care slip. No one was there to care for him, though Lisa tried.
He was already thinking of what to cook and how he was going to get Lisa out of the house for a couple hours. Perhaps go visit that tutor she was talking about... All he was interested in at the moment was getting to know River properly.
He hadn't noticed the look of fear in the moment it flashed across her face, sadly, otherwise he'd have no doubt taken her anxieties into consideration.

Max too was in a tizzy. He almost forgot to respond. "Wednesday sounds great! I can come pick you up at around four? I know this great little place in town." He looked to Bonnie and Junior and swore it looked like they were cheering him on.
Perhaps he was going crazy, but luck seemed to be in his favor for once.
Though he still had to break the news to Kevin about that harlot getting knocked up. That was still weighing on his mind, still, this was the balm he had been so desperately needing since his embarrassing confession to Kevin.
Things were looking up.
