Tam chuckled and shook her head, "It's just puppy love, River. It's not like he's going to ask you on a date." Then she heard the cashier's comment and turned, the "I will burn all you love look" already in full force on her face as she went to the girl and glared at her. "You think he wouldn't??? What makes you think you know him? You don't know him, bitch!" She was a hair's breadth away from leaping over the counter and clawing the bitch's eyes out.

Max shook his head. "You need to stop saying that. You're very handsome, Kevin." He still couldn't look at him. "You put yourself down and think no one could ever want you because of that scar. Yet you don't think about how that doesn't matter because you're kind and funny and... just a great guy all around... and handsome in spite of that scar. So handsome..." He sighed and felt Bonnie paw him. But he shook his head and got up, hoping that maybe a shower will clear his head and stop him from making what he feared would be a horrible mistake.
