Novgorod - Orbital Space Station > E Deck
Russ had been in deep thought with the team's medical records for about two days now. Russ could not get it out of his head -- how many people will they lose on this mission? Russ was released from active duty and was indebted to the Blackwood-Mori Interstellar corporation, and he knew why. But that's another story, for another time. Russ had been hired, by Captain Yoshida and BM's Interstellar commission, to be Chief medical officer due to his skill set. Russ was a cheap doctor in the eyes of the company.
The only good thing to come out of this was seeing Debug again. Debug, or D, for short, was an old call sign of Povel Vieregg, who Garrett had met in the USCMC Colonial Marines on several missions over the years. Chief Garrett was the team medic on the missions. He had not seen Vieregg in person in five years. For the last few years, Vieregg Povel pulled himself out of depression. Garrett himself had his troubles dealing with so much loss of Marine brothers. The two comrades started up video calls with one another again, being battle-brothers, leaning on one another in their troubled times.
Speak of the devil. As Russ wandered into Drifters, he thought his eyes were playing tricks on him at first when he saw Povel Vieregg sitting at the bar drinking water, looking over at a brunette woman. Since Russ had the team's medical records, he recognized her as Elisabet Maciel - company rep. Russ chuckled to himself. "Out of your league, Debug," Russ mumbled, slowly making his way over.
Russ walked up and took the seat next to him without saying a thing, and waited to see if Povel would recognize him. Russ's hair was longer now and he had a light beard growing. So there was a chance he might not be recognized right off.
As the bar tender was making his way over, it was too hard for Russ to contain himself, so he asked with a grin, "Hey D. What? You don't say hello anymore?"
