Blossom and Carter

Carter turned his attention back to Blossom and offered his hand again. "So, what do you want to do next?"

He had noticed some of the others going off towards the ride that was a giant loop but wasn't sure what Blossom wanted to do. Truthfully he was here to spend time with her so he was leaving the decisions, like that to Blossom.

Blossom looked at the sigh that had a map on it to see what looked good for the moment. Then she saw something she was interested in and hoped Carter would not laugh at her when she asked.

Blossom: Would you be okay if we rode the Carousel?

Carter smiled at her. "Yes, sounds like fun."

He walked with her towards the carousel. As they stood in-line, with the carousel going around, playing old fashioned music, Carter spoke up, "Have you been here, to the boardwalk, before?"

Blossom shook her head no as she was glad Carter agreed to ride the Carousel since some guys were to macho to ride it back at her home town. However she did like riding the Carousel back home at the county fair once a year.

Blossom: No, it's my first time here. Back home we had a small county fair once a year and I rode the Carousel then. It was fun even though I was not popular with the boys, but my female friends liked it too.

Blossom bit her bottom lip as she looked innocently at Carter who seemed to get and like her which was a big deal for her as she was nervous and excited at the same time. Part of her wanted to be shy and part of her wanted to kiss Carter. She was beginning to understand her wild cousins who liked to take their boyfriends and girlfriends to the hay loft.

Blossom: When I ride this it reminds me of back home so thank you for sharing this with me.

Carter was good with whatever Blossom wanted but he never the type to be worried that much about appearing macho. Besides he was going on with a girl, it made a difference in most people's minds.

Carter nodded: "That sounds like fun. I don't think I've been to a county fair. I went to the state fair of Colorado in Pubelo, a few times. That was fun." He thought for a moment. "I fill in here, for a friend of mine, on occasion. It's been enough that I know my way around and where the better food stands are." It was just a comment not a brag.

Carter wanted to kiss her but he wasn't going to do anything that might make her uncomfortable. He could wait until she was ready.

When Blossom spoke he smiled at her, "You're welcome but, just so you I know, I'm happy to be sharing this with you."

The ride slowed down and then stopped letting the riders off and then the line they were in opened and they went to get on the ride. Carter stayed by Blossom as she chose which of the painted horses or other thing she wanted to ride on. They couldn't share a horse but he could ride on one of his own near her.

Blossom: You are so sweet Carter.

As they looked at the choices on the Carousel, Blossom chose the zebra to ride on and next to her was the white horse for Carter to ride. Since the zebra was left in the high position she had to jump up to climb on which was a little entertaining to watch. Luckily she was able to get on without any injuries due to her cheerleading skills. Once she was on she was excited as she looked at Carter.

Blossom: Sorry, but I like zebras. They look like a donkey with stripes.

Carter would have helped her on but she did it herself before he could offer. Besides, he wasn't sure if she'd be comfortable with that so it was probably for the best.

As soon as he was sure she was on, he got on his horse with no problem. He was glad to see the excitement on her face; it was heartwarming.

Carter shook his head slightly, "You don't have to apologize for things you enjoy, not to me anyway. Besides, Zebras are pretty great."

He reached out to touch her hand as the carousel started to go. The music got slightly louder. And the ride wasn't fast but picked up speed a little.

Blossom: Awww thanks Carter.

Blossom was happy as the zebra moved up and down next to Carter. It felt so surreal as she rode next to Carter. It felt like a real date when she looked at him. It was her first real date and not just as a third wheel. In her mind she was remembering how excited the girls got when they talked about getting a boyfriend. Then she saw Carter's hand and reached out to grab it as they rode side by side.

Blossom: This is my first date. Thank you for making it fun.

Blossom smiled at Carter as she turned red and looked shy and innocent while holding his hand.

Carter was flattered that he was her first date. Things had turned better than he could have planned when he had come here today. He planned to make the day special for her.

"Well, I'm very happy I got to be your first date," He smiled. "Whatever you want to do just let me know."

Blossom bit her bottom lip as she heard Cater say his charming words. This was a very big deal for her as she looked at Carter. Back home she was always in the "friend zone" when it came to guys. They preferred girls with pretty faces, large chests and a curvy bottom. Sadly Blossom was lacking in curves as she watched the other girls go on and on about who liked who at school. Since their school was small, it was not hard for everyone to know everyone and their business. Gossip was a common practice and despite the complaints of some it was not going away anytime soon.

Blossom was happy to finally have a real date with a cute guy who was only looking at her. Since gossip was common at home she also heard the stories of guys and girls cheating, dumping their partners for a better option and playing the field. Some guys wanted a harem like Jack, but it always backfired on them. Of course she still didn't understand why Ashley and Roxy were willing to somewhat share Jack despite his grumpy attitude, but who was she to judge as long as they were happy. Blossom was so giddy that she was off guard when the ride came to an end as she was looking at Carter with the urge to kiss him. Once again her Zebra stopped in the high position and she needed to get down, but this time she planned to kiss Carter if he helped her down.

Blossom: Can you help me down?

Carter liked Blossom a great deal. To him she was pretty, interesting and smart. Carter didn't have a lot of experience. He had just hadn't really had much time for that in his life. That had left him in a different place than most of the other teens here when it came to dating. He just hadn't really connected to any other girl, in the same way, he felt he had with Blossom.

Carter had noticed Jack seemed to be with both Ash and Roxy and while a lot of guys would be jealous of Jack for having two girls; Carter wasn't. After all he was here with the girl he really wanted to be.

"Sure," Carter said as he got off his horse. He then went over to the zebra and helped Blossom get down.

Blossom put her hands on Carter's shoulders as he lifted her by her tiny waist. Then as he was lowering her down she felt a surge of energy as she got lost in the moment. Then when they were face to face, and she was still barely off the ground, she leaned in to kiss him on the lips. Now the kiss was not long and didn't have her tongue involved, but she felt like she got away with something big. As she looked at Carter's eyes hoping he liked it. She wanted to kiss him again but the Carousel Operator interrupted the mood with a snarky smile.

Carousel Operator: Okay kids get a room. We have a lot of people in line.

Blossom giggled as she pulled Carter off the Carousel and to the open area away from the ride. She looked at him with longing and innocent eyes. It was obvious she wanted to see his response.

The kiss took Carter pleasantly by surprise. It was short but still nice. When the operator interrupted them Carter smiled.

Once they were off the Carousel and out of the way, Carter turned to face Blossom. "Well, that was the best way to end a ride." He smiled, taking both her hands in his. He moved in closer. "But it feels a little like we got interrupted. Would you want to do that again?" It would eventually happen that he wouldn't feel the need to always ask her but this was new so he was being cautious.

Blossom giggled as Cater liked the kiss. It was both embarrassing and exciting at the same time.

Blossom: Yeah

Then Blossom stepped up on her tippy toes and gently pulled down on Carter’s shirt to reach his lips and this time the kiss got a bit more aggressive as she kissed him several times.

They stood there kissing for several moments. Carter was happy with all of this and just being here with Blossom. He really hadn't expected her to initiate their kiss but kissing her seemed natural.

When they paused, Carter took a moment to compose himself. "Wow." Was all he could say for another moment.

Eventually, Carter spoke up again. "So, what would you like to do next?" He obviously liked the kissing but they couldn't exactly just stand there kissing for the rest of the day; or maybe....

Blossom giggled at Carter’s expression, reaction and comments. Granted she was also a bit embarrassed by kissing in public but she rather liked being a bit wild now. However she knew that anything more than kissing was a bad idea, especially in public. She looked around and saw the loop de loop ride and pointed to it.

Blossom: Oh how about that loop ride?

Carter let his eyes follow where she was pointing. "That looks like fun. Ok."

He walked with her to the line for the loop ride. Rock music played and the line was getting longer by the moment. He could see the ride going around and around. "What rides did you get to go on before I showed up?" He was curious and not sure how long she had been there.

Blossom giggled since it was nice being with Carter. She found him cute but what she really liked was the way he looked at her. Then she remembered his question and remembered what rides they had at the county fair.

Blossom: Well…….he had a Carousel, a smaller Ferris Wheel, a tractor ride……..oh and a bull ride. We didn’t get many rides back home. They had a bigger state fair, but it was far away and expensive.

"Bull ride? That's something I've never done. Did you go on that?" He waited until she was done answering. "I've been on most of the rides here though I've not been on the rapids ride. I somehow have just missed it. At the fair I used to go to, I would do a lot of taking my siblings on rides."

The line moved up a little. "Maybe, sometime we should go to the amusement park. It's further away but, also, a lot of fun."

Blossom giggled as she had to rethink what she said.

Blossom: Oh I meant the mechanical Bull. It’s like a robot bull that spins and tries to buck you off.

Blossom liked that Cater spent time with his family. She liked doing that to.

Blossom: Really? You are so sweet Carter. I would love to go to an amusement park with you.

Blossom seemed excited and giddy as she wiggled around.

Blossom: Wow we’re already planning for another date during the first one. This is so much fun.

Carter listened to the explanation of the bull ride, "That sounds like it could be fun."

Carter did love his siblings but also, being the oldest, he just took it on himself to do things with them when he could.

He smiled at the comment about the date, "Well, I like spending time with you."

The line started moving; as people started being let on to the ride.

Blossom could not help but giddily flirt with Carter. It was like a spark was lit inside her and she could not resist it. True it was a new experience for the young farm girl who was usually timid and shy but spring had come for her and she didn't want it to end. She continued to explain how a mechanical bull worked and that they have them at some rodeos and bars from what her dad told her. Since her dad had to travel sometimes for work, he told her some stories from his travels. Then the line moved up and it was now their turn on the Loop De Loop ride called "Greezed Lightnin". The song in the background was from the movie related to the name.

Greased Lightning

After getting in a cart with Carter they were secured in by the ride operator along with the other people. Then they were given instructions before the ride operator launched them down the track full blast as many screamed with fear and excitement. Then they shot upwards through the loop and up a ramp where they paused for a moment. Then before they knew it they went backwards back through the loop and stopped where the operator was. Many people were excited while some were a little traumatized since they were tricked onto the ride by someone. After getting out Blossom was excited as the adrenaline was rushing through her blood. She looked at Carter with her excited big brown eyes and spoke up.

Blossom: Wow! That was amazing. I thought I was gonna die. I can't stop shaking. (giggle)

Greezed Lightnin

Carter found it interesting as Blossom talked about the mechanical bull ride. Maybe, at some point, he'd get a chance to try one. He heard the song playing in the background as he got a better look at the ride.

The ride was adrenaline rushing and heart pumping. He had been on it before but it seemed more fun riding it with Blossom. He had fun and then the ride ended.

Carter saw how excited Blossom was, he took her hand. "I can feel that." As he could feel her hand shaking. "It usually helps to take a few breaths." He kissed her forehead and grinned. "Or maybe that will help."

He realized he was getting hungry and wondered if Blossom was as well, "So, do you want to get some lunch?"

Blossom was about to answer when her stomach growled for her. She quickly covered her stomach and turned beet red in the face. She was embarrassed after doing something so unladylike in front of Carter. Seeing as she could run away crying or try to play it off with humor, she spoke up.

Blossom: I guess that answers your question.

Carter heard Blossom's stomach growl and wasn't sure, at first, how she'd react. So, he let her respond without saying anything. When Blossom joked about it he gave her friendly smile. Glad she felt comfortable enough with him to not run off.

Carter took her hand and let her to where the food stands were. "So, what would you like?"

What she wanted was fine with him and as soon as she chose he would get it for her.

Blossom was relieved Carter didn’t tease her. It was obvious he was being a gentleman when he didn’t laugh. Then as he held her hand and asked her what she was in the mood for she got a case of the heart flutters. Then she looked around when she smelled something good and by chance she saw the corn dog stand. She pointed at it and spoke up to Carter.

Blossom: How about a corn dog?

"Corn dogs sound great." Carter responded.

He walked with her to the food stand. There were corn dogs by themselves but also combo meals of one or two dogs with sides such as fries or chips and a drink.

"What would you like? I'm getting combo B." Carter explained. Combo B was two corn dogs, fries and a drink. "You picked well, by the way, this place has great corn dogs."

Blossom smiled at Carter as he talked to her. She liked how he gave her any choice she wanted however she was not ready to be too unladylike so went with a smaller option.

Blossom: Hmmmm…. I’ll have the Combo A which has one corn dog, fries and a drink. Oh, can I get a root beer?

"Sure," Carter responded.

Carter went to up to the stand and placed the orders. It didn't take long for the food to be ready and soon enough they had gotten their orders.

Carter nodded towards the picnic tables that were for people to eat at. "Let's go sit down over there."

Once they got seats at one of the tables he sat down next to Blossom.

"So, have you enjoyed the boardwalk, so far?" Carter asked.

Blossom’s eyes sparked as she looked at Carter. She told him she absolutely was enjoying herself at the Boardwalk. She loved the rides, the scenery and above all she enjoyed Carter’s company. It was obvious that Blossom was easy to impress since the big city life was all new to her.

Blossom: Sorry. I am just rambling on. Please tell me if I talk too much.

Carter listened as Blossom spoke. She was interesting to him.

Carter responded to her comment. "You could never talk too much. I'm really glad you've been having fun." He took a sip of his soda. "So, any idea what you want to do next?"

Blossom looked around then looked at Carter and spoke up.

Blossom: Can we just walk around? Since we just ate and all?
