A Brief Moment

When Jack awoke the ride was over and Ashley and Roxy were in a good mood as they had a sly grin on their face. Jack was clueless as his neck was covered in hickeys. he received a lot of unpleasant looks from nearby patrons. He was feeling dizzy so he sat on a bench with both Ashley and Roxy on each side as they began to talk about the other things they wanted to to at the boardwalk.

After a short rest on the bench Ashley told Jack they were on their own for now since everyone went off to do their own thing. Jack sighed as this meant he was alone with Ashley and Roxy. He tried to stand till he realized his arms were still locked with Ashley and Roxy who were giving him a sly grin as if they could read his mind.

Ashley: So Jack what ride should we do next?

Roxy: Or would you prefer walking around?

Jack looked at them and pondered his options. Then he looked around and found his answer.

Jack: I think a walk will help clear my head.

Ashley: Oh a nice romantic walk huh?

Ashley looked pleased by his answer.

Roxy: Maybe we can get a cold drink?

Roxy was smiling as looked at Jack. Jack was still confused as to how and why Ashley and Roxy were suddenly okay with dating him at the same time. He knows it happened when he passed out from hunger and woke up at the nurses office. However they were avoiding the topic when he brought it up.

Jack: Sure.

With that resolved they took a walk near the concession stands. Jack was feeling uncomfortable as he got unpleasant looks and finger pointing from other patrons. He had no idea his neck was covered in hickies. He thought it was just from being close to two females which looked like he was a player.

As they walked for a bit they saw saw a few games, some concession stands and a spot where a guy did caricature pictures. Since he was thirsty they got in line for a fancy frozen juice. As they waited in line Ashley and Roxy went on an on about what beverage they wanted since it all looked so good. Jack on the other hand just wanted a frozen mango drink. He liked to keep it simple. Then from the corner of his eye he saw movement which made him look out of curiosity.

Older woman: HELP!!! Thief!!! Someone stop that man!!

It was at that split second that Jack saw a guy in a dark hoodie barreling at his direction while knocking over anyone in his way. Though he didn’t want to get involved his body reacted instinctively and before he knew it he was performing a beautiful jump spin roundhouse kick to the thief’s head. The impact was so loud the sound of a bone cracking echoed for the nearby customers. Even though Jack performed his attack in a mere second the customers were in shock to see the thief spin in a 360 degrees spin before his head and shoulders impacted the cement ground. The thief hit so hard, he actually bounced up a few inches before hitting the ground again.

Everyone was silent as they could not believe what they saw. It looked like an action move in a movie. Ashley and Roxy were actually a roused by Jack’s heroics when the silence was broken by the woman looking for her purse with her grandson. Then a security guard arrived asking questions. Before Jack could apologize for attacking the guy, the lady’s grandson told the whole story and made Jack look like a hero. Jack turned red in the face as he was embarrassed by the story. Since the witnesses confirmed the story and it was on camera, the security recorded everything and arrested the thief after returning the purse. After thanking the embarrassed Jack, everyone went back to their own thing. Then Ashley and Roxy kissed Jack on both cheeks.

Roxy: This is how I fell for you the first time.

Ashley: Damn you were sexy back there.

Jack: Please stop teasing me.

Both girls teased their hero a bit more before getting their frozen fruit drinks. Then as they were walking off the caricature pictures stood up get their attention. Apparently he was inspired by Jack’s heroics and practicality begged to paint the three of them. Jack tried to say no but Ashley and Roxy liked the idea so poor Jack lost his opinion. In the end they each got a copy of the same picture of Jack standing on a masked criminal while having Roxy and Ashley smiling by his side. Since Ashley bought the pictures with her own money, he wasn’t allowed to toss it later on.

Seeing as they wanted some alone time they made their way to the paddle boats. After finding a four seater paddle boat with a swan canopy, Ashley and Roxy made poor Jack sit between them as they paddled around the man made lake. He was nervous that they were going to torment him again but to his surprise they simply leaned their heads on his shoulders as they quietly watched the horizon.
