The Auction and The Aftermath (Part 10)

Part 10: Exits

Kyle felt Justin's hand on his knee and tried to avoid giving away any indication that's what was happening. He really wanted to make an excuse to leave so Justin would follow him but he also thought them leaving would leave Blossom alone and he didn't want to do that to her.

The whole JD and Rose thing seemed to lighten the mood and for that Courtney was grateful. People started talking again in their smaller groups and she finished eating.

Kaylee ate her cupcake and finished her soda. She looked around and once again noticed all the couples or the almost couples. It just felt a little strange to be surrounded by so many of them. She was well aware, like she assumed almost everyone in the room was, that Kyle and Justin were obviously into each other. It seemed strange to her that they were hiding it but it wasn't a judgment, more of she didn't understand why they weren't open about it. Her eyes landed for a brief moment on Conner; it wasn't for very long. Not even long enough people would really notice. She looked away but then couldn't help it. He was right there and well her mind went to wondering what it would be like to share a moment like that with Conner. With that being nothing but a thought she went back to eating her food.

JD took their empty plates and other trash and threw them away. He came back to Rose and sat next to her. He put his arm back around her. He talked with the others holding Rose close.

Conner threw his stuff away too. He looked at Kaylee as he sat. He had made promises and he would keep them. Conner let out a sigh realizing the pizza was all gone. Conner drank the last of his coke. talking to the others.

Justin took Kyle’s trash as Blossom followed him to the trash can. It was only fair to help clean up since it was free food.

Justin: Thanks, that was awesome.

Blossom: Yes thank you.

The two returned to where they were sitting to see if anyone else needed help cleaning.

Matt stood up and grabbed his, Courtney's, and Kaylee's trash, and went to the trash can. He heard Justin and Blossom's thanks and said, "You're welcome but it was no problem."

Kyle said, "Thanks" to Justin for taking care of his trash. And then thanked Matt for the food.

Zander and April took care of the trash from their table and also thanked Matt. Who responded much in the same way as he had to the others.

When Matt got back to the table Courtney and Kaylee thanked him and so did Sam, Rose, and Heath. He said it wasn't a problem.

Courtney stood up and commented to Matt; "There is still some time before curfew. Do you want to take a walk?"

"I was about to ask the same thing,’ Matt smiled. He said to Kaylee and Conner. "See you later."

The two said a general goodbye got up from the table and the two wandered outside.

Heath said, after taking care of the trash for himself and Sam, "This was fun." He turned to Sam, "Do you want to get something air?"

"Yeah," Sam responded, she turned to Rose and JD and joked, "You two behave while I'm gone. I don't want to miss any good pics."

Rose rolled her eyes and shook her head; "I'm never going to hear the end of this, am I?"

Sam grinned, "Not for a while."

Heath and Sam said goodbye and went outside.

The table that held Zander, Riley, Dawn, and April kept talking. Then Zander and Riley headed outside. With a general goodbye as well.

Which left in the room. JD, Rose, Dawn, April, Blossom, Kaylee, Conner, Kyle, and Justin.

Kaylee got up and started cleaning up what was left of the empty pizza boxes, empty cupcake containers, and empty soda bottles. Dawn and April came over and helped her.

Travis and a few of the skaters were walking by and peeked in the room to see what was going on.

"Hey," Travis said, "Man, looks like we missed the party. What was it?"

Kaylee responded, "Sam, Dawn, and Zander all had birthdays this week."

Travis looked at Dawn, "Well, then happy birthday. Missed the other two though. Gotta catch them later, I suppose."

He then asked Kaylee, "So what you got going on?"

"Now? Nothing, I guess. Why?" Kaylee responded.

"Ya wanna come. We're gonna watch 'Gleaming The Cube'. You know that classic skater movie from '89. We're gonna old school it tonight." He looked around, "That's an open invite, you know. Ya all welcome to come."

"Sure," Kaylee said.

Dawn said to Kaylee, "Go ahead. There isn't that much left to clean up. We'll finish up."

Kaylee said, "Oh, ok. Thanks."

Travis said to the room. "We'll have snacks. 15 minutes. Rec room three."

Kaylee said her goodbye generally to the room and left.

JD looked around to make sure everything was cleaned. He had thanked Matt for the pizza he turned to Rose, "Ready to go? Want to do homework together?" JD asked.

Rose replied, "Sure."

The two said their goodbyes and walk out holding hands.

Conner realized the room everyone was leaving. He waited until most left the room. He got up, he knew what he had to do and with fewer people in the room it was as good as any to apologize to Blossom. He got up and casually walked over to Blossom. He waited until the other people were not paying too much attention. "Hi, Blossom." He started thinking on the right words. "I am sorry for my, ah, flirting earlier. I think I took it too far with you. If I made you feel uncomfortable I am sorry," he said apologizing.

Kyle noticed Conner coming over and others leaving. He turned to Justin and quietly spoke, so he wouldn't be overheard. "Do you want to go? We can hang out in my room or yours? If you want."

Once everything was cleaned up, Dawn and April headed back to their room, with a quick goodbye to everyone who was left.

Blossom looked at Conner and nodded as he spoke. She was still a bit nervous around him since she was noticing his body a bit more.

Blossom: It’s okay. I just wasn't ready for it so quickly. Especially in front of Courtney. Ummmmm..... well I am sure you have important stuff to do....so ....I'll just......you know .......... go do something else?

Justin winked at Kyle as he whispered, "Mine". Justin smiled brightly as he nodded. Justin raised an eyebrow at Kyle as he was still flirting in secret. He was enjoying their secret play as it was fun not getting caught by the others. It didn't even dawn on him that others didn't really care and figured it out already.

Blossom looked around as she was not sure what to do next. Then she saw everyone was splitting up so she decided to head off on her own. She knew Ashley was looking for Jack or with him already by now so she was on her own. Since she was not sure who to hang out with she decided to take a walk till something came up.

A grin fell on Kyle's face as Justin responded. He stood up and the two left.

Conner smiled, "Cool, well I will be around the school, see you around Blossom." He replied and walked out of the room.
