High Anxiety

Lunch Day 3

After the sprinkler incident the students were finding themselves in a "Cold War" of sorts. Lance's tirade on the scholarship students opened up a wedge among the students. Several scholarship students were getting excluded more openly and the rumor mill was working al day. This exclusion was causing a lot of tension in the school and poor Blossom was feeling the pressure of being looked down on by others. Had it not been for Ashley being by her side she would have been reduced to tears by lunch time. Ashley used her charm and wit to support Blossom as she gave the jerks the cold shoulder. Of course it did help that Blossom was the new cheer flyer so she was considered off limits unless they wanted Coach Callahan in their backs.

Jack on the other hand preferred the solitude and welcomed the cold shoulder of the other students. He was not eager to make friends in the first place and liked it when they minded their own business. Of course it also helped that when he had a run in with Lance, Joey and Charlie on the first day of school he took them down quickly with three quick crotch shots. Apparently they tried to threaten Jack to dump Ashley and backfired on them. So due to that incident Jack was labeled as a jerk with a temper in the rumor mill and it raised a lot of questions as to why Ashley was so obsessed with the moody boy. Then of course Jack being friends with Justin also raised some more questions since many believed that Justin might be gay since he liked fashion and turned down a lot of girls who wanted to date him.

So the four of them went through the morning doing their best in a negative environment. Sadly a few jerks tried to hit on Ashley in the crowded hallways in front of Jack and were not taking "No" for an answer. Two of them went as far as groping Ashley's backside in an attempt to look cool and macho, so Ashley gave them a charming smile and proceeded to crush their family jewels mercilessly in her iron grip. She then whispered into their ears that if they pulled another stunt like that again she will keep their jewels in a jar. Jack smirked a bit as the two guys were reduced to tears in a curled up ball on the crowded floor as their friends were in shock. Ashley then made a pitiful smirk as she took Jack and Blossom by the hand and headed for the cafeteria.

"Joe's surf shop is the best and has the most equipment even diving stuff there," suggested JD drinking his coke.

"Cool," Kyle said. And then speaking of shopping. "Any idea where we're taking the nerds shopping, tonight?" ‘Nerds’ wasn't said in a derogatory manner as Kyle was saying just what they were.

"A few of the shops on the beach street and Joe's on the boardwalk," JD replied. Then the thought of Rose in a wet suit entered his mind and not a bad pitcher to have. He looked around the table trying to shake the pitcher in his head. He took a few more bites of his sub. "Kyle, are you going with us and the nerds shopping? Could use your help trying to make them look cool?"

"Yes. " Nodding towards Heath. "I'll be there."

Heath added. "JD, I thought the same thing. I think Justin was also coming." Justin the resident fashion expert was going to be useful in helping with the shopping; if he was still coming.

"Great, this should work out. I hope we can get everything they need," said JD as he ate the last part of his sub.

Ashley, Jack, Blossom and Justin arrived at the cafeteria and got in line to select what they wanted. Since the custom sandwiches were looking good they all got sandwiches suiting their moods. Ashley and Blossom got a turkey sandwich since they wanted to eat healthy. Justin got a veggie sandwich and Jack got a multi meat sub. After getting their drinks and food the four friends headed to the usual table as Justin's name came up. Justin perked up as his name came up with the subject of shopping. The four friends sat down at the table.

Justin: I think that outing will be good for us. There is too much negativity in the school now.

Ashley: Oh yeah we still need to get you a swimsuit too Blossom.

Blossom: You still want to do that?

Ashley: Of course silly. I am not letting those jerks ruin our fun. Right Jack?

Jack: umm sure.

Jack went back to eating his large sandwich.

Ashley: See even my Jack doesn't care about them.

Blossom: But what if they......

Ashley: Oh you silly girl. You are with me and all the guys at this table would be more than happy step up if the jerks mess with us right?

Justin: Of course.

Justin smiled at Blossom and then at Kyle.

Justin: So Kyle......... you still plan on bringing your guitar?
