Keeping Up Appearances
Posted byPosted: Oct 14, 2013, 10:44am
A beam of sunlight broke through the curtains in the small room of the Inn. It pierced over the top of the single bed, and struck the wooden floor at the other side of the room. As the body rolled over and scratched its ass sleepily, the light beam struck an eye, causing a sudden feeling of alertness. Irises struggled to accomodate the sudden amount of light, and Jamie sat up on the wooden floor.
He stretched widely, and winced as a stiff shoulder cracked into obedience. The loud noise made the form in the bed shift, and a loud yawning sound began, but was cut off by a loud banging noise.
"The hell was that?" Jamie asked, as Alex sat up in the bed, and looked around alarmed as well.
Then, there was a knock at the door.
"Yes?" Jamie asked, instinctively.
"Room service!" came the call of a woman, and then the door opened. There were two women, and they rushed in, one to each of the men.
"Umm... Can we not get dressed first?" Alex asked, as the woman that approached him leaned over his bed, pushed him back down onto it, and began to lean at him. Jamie looked up at this, bemused. He didn't get long to do this though, as the other woman that had approached him had almost jumped on him, seeing as he was on the floor. It made another loud bang that sounded not unlike the other noises that had brought them into a higher state of awareness.
"Stay still. this won't hurt a bit." said the woman on Jamie, as she opened her mouth wide, revealing the strange creature in her throat.
"Woah, get back!" Jamie called, raising a foot to kick her away. The woman fell back, and Jamie scrambled to his feet, just in time for the woman to have already recovered, and charged at him, sending him flying back against the wall. With a cough from almost being winded, something landed on the floor next to him. He grabbed it, and swung it out as the woman leapt at him again.
The sword that had been on the wall was in his hand now, swinging blade first at the portly woman, slicing her throat open, and cutting whatever creature was there in half.
"Alex!" Jamie called, watching him struggling. Under the bed covers, he was having a harder time. Jamie reached over for a pistol from a bag, grabbed it, and looked at the scene again, to aim.
He pulled the trigger.
Moments later, the two men stepped out of the room, and closed the door behind them. Jamie cleared his throat.
"Nothing gets mentioned." they said in a look to each other. Inside their room it was a mess. Two dead bodies - one completely missing a head, the other just missing its internal life fluids as they spilled unceremoniously to the floor from a severe neck laceration.
Jamie was wearing a blue satin jacket above a white shirt, cuffs all fluffy and sticking out of his jacket sleeves a bit. The jacket tails covered his ass spectacularly, which was probably a good thing as the matching blue trousers were a bit tight, and stuffed into boots at the bottom. His shoulder length hair was a bit wavier than normal, probably from lying on the wooden floor, but it seemed to match the look of most of the men, making him fit in quite nicely.
Around his waist was a belt with a flintlock pistol attached, along with a bag of shot and gunpowder. Even if they had high tech weapons, it would be a good idea to wear weaponry of the time to at least look armed. Wandering around with all their hidden high-tech weapons would invite trouble of more than one kind.
Not to mention that Jamie loved old weapons, and he was hoping to be able to keep this one.
<Tag guys. I won't reveal Alex' garb in case he has special plans for his outfit.
