Nearly
A rare smile playing across her lips, Cassandra was walking with Jay, making their way down towards the Cyberpark, her arm looped comfortably through his, chatting easily as they strolled along together
"So where did you and Seymour go off to?" she asked "It got a bit hazy for me towards the end - Were you off threatening to lay the poor guy out again?"
"Nah" Jay smiled "I only do that when I have to; he's annoying but beneath all that bluster he's not a bad bloke"
Cass raised her eyebrows
"Really?"
"He's pretty smart too"
"Oh, now you're taking the piss!"
"No, honestly - It was his idea to start flying the station back towards the Dwarf; we figured that since Legion was distracted, we might be able to get close enough to escape in vac-suits, or ...something"
He shrugged
"I dunno - I tend to make things up as I go along"
Cass smiled
"Yeah, I had noticed; 'S Okay though - I think about things way too much; I'm sure we'll get along just fine"
Jay grinned at her in response
"Sorry about needing rescuing again" Cass continued, glancing across at him and catching his eyes "That was a pretty crappy end to a decent evening; I thought Legion going to kill me!"
"Well, I wasn't about to let that happen" Jay said grimly "You... You're far too ...special... You..."
"Easy Sparky" Cass wheeled around to kiss him before he could say anything else "I know it's been six hundred years for you, but we only just got together...ish"
"Yeah, I guess..." Jay accepted "It's just that..."
"It's just that nothing!" Cass chided, with a giggle "Kiss me you smegger"
They kissed again, Jay eventually breaking it off
"Are you ok?" he asked gently, running the back of a finger up the side of her cheek towards the cut on her forehead that she had received when Legion had smashed her into the monitor "That looks pretty nasty..."
"Can't feel a thing" Cass smirked
"I think that was Tetra-Hylozine you gave me earlier" she continued, by way of explanation "We used to use it in the chop shop I worked in; It knocks you out for a few hours and then carries on working as an industrial strength pain killer after that"
She paused to give him a lingering kiss
"I'm going to feel terrible for a couple of days after this" she breathed "But right now the drugs are masking everything and I'm feeling pretty damn good, so let's not worry about it huh?"
"Are you sure...?" Jay frowned "I don't want you dying on me or anything"
"Yeah, yeah, don't worry" Cass pulled him away by his hand "C'mon, let's get to that Cyberpark"
Resuming their walk, it was Jay who spoke first
"I didn't know you used to work in a chop shop; thought you said you didn't know any medical stuff?"
"I don't - At least not the useful, basic stuff like: What's wrong with someone and how to make them better" Cass shrugged "But I used to work as a cybertechnologist; I engineered the sort of systems that made people *better*"
"What? Synthetic wetware and stuff!?" Jay grunted "Wasn't that illegal in the twenty second century?"
"Totally" Cass smiled wanly "It's why I wound up on the 'Dwarf in the first place"
"Oh?" Jay asked raising his eyebrows "I always did kinda wonder where it was that you had turned up from; you'll have to tell me the story"
Cass favoured him with a sad kind of look as they reached the Cyberpark
"It's ancient history Sparky - but I'll tell you one day"
Opening the Cyberpark's door, she pulled him by hand across towards the cracked control panel , still smeared with her own blood
"C'mon Mr. Time Traveller" she purred "Pick us somewhere nice"
"What sort of thing are you in the mood for?" Jay grinned wolfishly
"Oh, I dunno; maybe some spectacular, mind-blowingly, amazing..." Cass paused to pull him into an embrace and smiling, kissed him "scenery"
Jay kissed her back
"Is that all?" he teased
"Hell no" she breathed, trailing her lips down his neck "I was thinking we could maybe have the best sex anyone's had in millions of years?"
"Oh, now you're talking..." he murmured, pulling away to punch a couple of instructions into the control panel; the room around them shifting and blurring until the scenery settled on a beautiful alien landscape, a ring system just visible, arcing high above them across the pale yellow dawn sky, and a field of sweet smelling, broad leaved flowers swaying gently in the breeze around them
"Eta Cassiopeia seven" Jay said to Cass' quizzical look "One of the most beautiful places in the galaxy?"
"There's no smegging bed, you donkey" she pulled him downwards onto the ground amidst the sweet smelling flowers "...but smeg it"
They kissed for the longest time, with Jay having just got his hand up inside her top, while Cass was in turn unbuttoning his shirt, when Cass ruined the moment a bit by giggling
"What?" Jay asked
"No, no - It's silly - It's nothing" she grinned guiltily
"No, go on..."
"Honestly - it's nothing!"
"I wasn't doing anything wrong was I?"
"Oh, alright... Don't take this the wrong way or anything, but you did remember to park this institute before we came down here, didn't you? We're not flying into the sun or anything?"
Jay's eyes widened with surprise
"Oh, Shit!" he cried, scrambling upright to peals of laughter from Cass "We're going to hit the 'Dwarf"
"Listen" he gabbled "The... I've gotta... I..."
"Yeah, yeah - Off you go" Cass gasped, trying to control her mirth "I'll wait here for you"
A regretful look on his face, Jay shamefacedly dashed off, buttoning his shirt back up as he ran
"Three days time when I'm over this Hylozine" Cass shouted to his retreating back "You're mine Chrysler - all mine!"
"...Just ask Holly to move the Dwarf, and I'm sure we'll be ok" she added, but she wasn't sure if he had heard her
Laid amid the flowers, Cass felt shiny and warm; the pain killers were working their magic, and with the peaceful low drone and chirp of the insects and birds in the the air, she soon began to feel her eyes droop, and before long she was fast asleep
...
"Ah good, you're awake"
The voice was gently familiar and so, as Cassandra's eyes flickered open, were the surroundings, although neither the owner of the voice or Osaka Castle Park in spring time were what she had expected
"We thought you'd like it here"
Blinking disconcertedly, Cass quickly scrambled upright
"Hiya sleepy-head" Brittany smiled
Cass frowned
"This is a dream, right?"
