Andy, Kara- 'No inter-dimensional craft in the hallways'
Who: Andy, Kara
Where: Warp hole
When: A few minutes afterwards
"So, how long is this thing going to take?" Kara dug irritably.
"When I used this thing I was in the middle of deep space. I have no
idea where you are now. So it could be anyway from a few minutes to a
few hours." Andy replied as he gathered up the steadily increasing
supply of useless items.
"A few-?!"
"Clam down! This was the fastest possible solution that could ever be
done. Something I hadn't even thought of till I got to it."
The hologramatic woman rubbed her temples in a failing attempt to calm
herself down. "Great, so while you sit here and take five I- ... you
know what? You're right, I've been complaining far too much."
At this the janitor turned to stare at her. "You...what?" Kara ran a
hand through her hair in exasperation before explaining. "Yes, yes,
express all the surprise you wish. Still, you've been doing all the
work while I've been here doing nothing. I'm sorry Andy. I just feel
so... well... helpless, y'know?"
The multi-class Janitor/Enginer/Hacker nodded slowly. "Yeah... I know
the feeling. Don't worry though. I'll get you out of this. I promise."
"I'll hold you to that." Kara grinned, holding out her index finger to
him.
"No doubt" Andy's face scrunched up.
The former pilot began to curl her hair mindlessly. "By the way... how
did you get the coordinates to get to me?"
Andy looked over at the Navi-com. "I used your positional data."
Kara's hands immediately began to spasm. "You used- MY WHAT?!"
The janitor rose an eyebrow. "You're in a ship right?"
"I'm in a ship alright, IN ONE OF ITS CORRIDORS!!"
Andy's eye's snapped open as the ship neared the end of the warp hole.
"Oh shi-!"

When: half a second later
"RUN! COWARD!!" The Krylon controlled Kara screeched at the fleeing
marines. She raised her rifle to the crux of her shoulder and let off
bullets like a cartoon duck fires spittle.
However, not a single one hit. This wasn't another occasion reminding
us that all bad guys suck at marksmanship. No it was really the fault
of the mini-moke sized space ship that came hurdling at her at
breakneck speeds.
With a satisfying 'WHUNCH' the hologram was sent flying back down the
corridors. The Hermes failed to twist or even slow down from the speed
bump.
On the inside however.
"YOU HIT ME! YOU BASTARD, YOU HIT ME!!" Kara was busy doing her block
as her managed hard-light form was sent twisting through the air like
a rag doll.
"I'M SORRY!! I trying to slow down but-!"
"TRY HARDER!!-" The woman screamed as the end of the hall quickly
began to crawl into sight.
Within an instant Andy grabbed both the air break and the levitation
sticks and jammed both down to zero. An awful prolonged screeching
noise filled the ship. The Hermes slipped and skidded. All while
desperately trying to slow down to 'normal' speeds; Y'know, something
that isn't 300 kms per hour.
After 20 seconds of the high-pitched metal-on-metal screaming and 2
metres left from the end the ship stopped. Practically breaking the
cockpit open, Andy scrambled out of the once-again crashed ship. It
was becoming apparent that he didn't have a very good track record for
flying.
"So...*gasp*... it *cough* appears I'm not *cough* dead." Andy slowly
hacked up his lungs, winded from the crash landing.
Kara's face began to grow visibly excited, pressing her hands up
against the screen. "Andy... I'll forgive EVERYTHING that happened
since I've met you as long as you get to my body, right now."
The janitor stared down at his wrist. "I've never had a woman ask me
that-." "-RIGHT NOW!"
Getting his smeg together, Andy struggled to his feet. The hard-light
hologram may be invincible but it could still experience pain. Not
that Andy knew this. Limping over to the stunned AI he leaned down at
its side.
"You have to open me up Andy and get my light bee. I'm sure you can do
the rest... I hope!" Kara prompted. The hope in her voice was undeniable.
"My hand can't go through you! How can I hope to get your light-?"
Andy blinked then went for his belt. Pulling out the water pistol, he
levelled at the woman's mid-waist.
"I hope this works." With a quick squirt the surprisingly
black-coloured liquid tore though the hologram's code with ease. "Hey,
that's not water! That's must be some special ops anti-fire liquid!"
"*Electrical* flame retardant." Andy specified. He was used to working
with this kind of crap on Blue Dwarf. The liquid itself was designed
to turn off or otherwise remove the electricity out wires and cabling
so as to make it safe.
"There it is!" Kara stated with joy, pointing at the small hovering
device in her dissolved mid-section.
Andy's hand dove in and grabbed the small bauble. Pulling the
Masterkey out from his neck he placed both on the ground and went to
down with the appearing holo-keyboard.
"Simple stuff, they've re-routed your moral protocol to another AI of
some kind. That's what was controlling you. Don't worry. Using some of
the eternity code I'll have this loop hole sealed up and anything else
I can find."
"*Well*, I'm sorry for being so easy to control!" Kara replied in a
joking huff.
"-There. Lock down. Your light bee is stable. Unless someone gets
another Masterkey and tears though these themselves then your body and
brain is better protected than a heterosexual man's arsehole."
Andy looked down at the woman staying his arm with a beaming smile.
"You can go home now." Kara looked back up at him with an equal grin.
"Not a moment too soon. This code wasn't getting any more comfortable."
With that the woman vanished.
Four seconds later the light bee in front of him began to shake. Andy
grabbed the Masterkey and wrapped it around his neck. Taking a few
steps back, the janitor beheld Kara's form reconstituting into what it
was before he turned it into road kill.
A dark Blue Dwarf uniform phased into existence before the
hologramatic woman's peaceful face appeared atop. Strawberry blonde
hair suddenly constituted around her head and framed her face. To Andy
it was like the first woman was being created before his very eyes.
Just like Amber, though he would never admit it, the janitor thought
that Kara was... beautiful.
Before he could take time to edge even further back she was complete.
Her eyes snapped open and turned her head to him.
Kara almost leapt to her feet and rushed to him. Two wide arms and a
grin suddenly wrapped around the surprised Australian man. The embrace
lasted for a full 10 seconds before she released him. Either Kara
didn't notice or didn't care about the shocked expression on his face.
"Now Andy, we're in the middle of a battlefield and innocent people
are involved." The hologram leaned down and gathered up a discarded
laser rifle. "Get whatever weapon you can find and follow my lead-
it's my turn to rescue you."
<Tagging Emerald!>
OOC: No, I don't intend to have Andy romance Kara (I think). He's just
acknowledging that she's cute, okay?
