< this replaces the end of my previous post> Suddenly, with no warning, the door stopped, and the man dropped under the door, leaving the beer behind. A moment later, he and some other, less familiar people appeared under the door, closely followed by a number of gelfs. A brief firefight ensued, and the two surviving officers - WHY did they seem so familiar? - surrendered. But by that time Jessie was moving so fast that stopping was not an option, so instead she dived to the greasy floor and slid the rest of the way, snatching up a pair of dropped guns as she skidded past. Without needing to think, she swung them up to aim, and in less than two seconds a dozen more gelfs were dead. But she couldn't slow down, and in another moment she was behind a pile of crates. Collided with them, in fact.Ouch.<tag>
