Simple Minds - Continued

Rosette lay in the medi-bed, her shoulder still screaming with pain,
despire the pain killers she was on. Keto had done a good job of
sewing it up, but she still couldn't move it very well... Her single
remaining knife lay in his sheath on the chair beside her bed, along
with her other usual things, the other knife was... probably being
used by one of those GELF's now...
She sat up, once again feeling a searing pain through her arm, but
she resisted the urge to yell out. Instantly, one of the nurses ran
over to her, and helped her sit up properly, before giving her a
sling for her arm.
"I don't think you'll be able to use it properly for a week or so..."
she said, "but thats the only damage, so feel free to leave when you
feel well enough." the nurse added, before retreating back to her
desk.
Rosette looked around again, the people she'd seen before were still
here, save for Shakespeare... In her mind, she spoke to herself "he's
not here? I could've sworn i saw him here..."
She grabbed her things as best she could, though her... now torn
jacket could only sit on her shoulders, her arm still refusing to
work enough to put it on properly.
She knew she'd never be able to take on jayne or any of her grunts
with her arm like this... especially her right arm. She could use a
gun, but she wouldn't be able to aim very well with her left arm...
Luckily, the struggle had moved on from the area of the promenade
that she had fallen into, so she could quite easily make her way to
the shop, to check for any other forms...
"Hmm... he was hurt, so i doubt he'd get very far..." she told
herself as she moved through the shops one by one. Finally she made
her way to McDonalds... the stench of old, burnt chips flooded her
senses, and the grease hanging in the air stuck itself to her,
sticking her hair down instantly, as if she'd been working there for
years.
She heard a grunt from the back of the shop, and moved towards it,
a... gutter, lining the entire room, wide enough to pour an entire
deep-fat-fryer's contents in one go, and more than enough for a prone
body to lie. Since the invasion of the GELF, this shop had closed
down, no one really wanted to work here, let alone when there were
gun-fights moving up and down the entire promenade, so the gutter was
now empty, and dry.
*groan*
"Who's there?" she asked, looking around, trying to find where the
groan was coming from. In the corner of the room, the gutter
disappeared into the wall, a grating was all that remained. It
sounded like the groan was coming from in there...
Rosette opened the door slowly, and looked in. The gutter stopped in
the corner, where another grating took it away from the shop. Lying
next to it, in what could only be called a storeroom was the form of
a middle-aged man covered in make-shift bandages.
"Oh my god!" Rosette almost yelled, as she fell to his side, checking
his pulse, but all she got was a scare as he rolled over to face her,
having been woken up by a hand over his neck.
"Who art thou?" he asked, opening his eyes a little easier than she
had earlier.
"Its me, rosette" she said, trying to help him up. "i came to find
you".
