"Trapped in the egg chamber"

"I think its this way" Jay said and pointed down an exit from the
hanger they were in. Amber rolled her eyes, he may have been Emperor,
but he knew nothing about the Hymenopterra now.
"It's this way Sir." She said emphasizing the sir part. She stormed
out of the hanger and towards the bridge.

Efof walked in the middle of the team, he considered this to be the
safest place. But still he was jumpy, and darted his rifle around,
aiming at anything that made a noise.
He had never been inside a Hymenoptera ship, and the entire place was
like something from his nightmares. Despite being normally flippant
and happy, this was pretty much the only thing that worried Efof. The
Hymenoptera had killed his entire race and didn't want them to finish
the job by now killing him.
The inside of the hymenoptera ship was slimy, very very slimy. The
walls were soft to touch, and strange coloured goo oozed out of pores
in it. The entire place made him feel like he'd been shrunk and
inserted into somebody's body. But not a healthy body, a diseased
decrepit body.
The walkway they were walking through was more like a tunnel, almost
perfectly round. After a while the tunnel opened up into a larger
cavern, and the team came to a stop.
"What's going on guys?" he asked, and impatiently pushed to the front
of the group where Jay and Amber grabbed him – just after he slipped
off a 90ft ledge.
"Agghhhh!!" Efof screamed as he kicked at thin air underneath him, but
Jay dragged him up by his shoulders.
"Careful Efof." Said Jay.
Efof grabbed onto the ledge and looked at what he almost fell into. It
was a large hollow cavern roughly the size of two football pitches,
and half a football pitch deep.
"What is it?" Efof asked, looking down. He could see many hymenoptera
milling around, carrying green blobs around.
"Its an egg chamber." Jay said. "Those are Hymenoptera soldiers ready
to be born. They hatch with an in-built killer instinct, ready to maim
and kill. See those larger ones over there? Those are the large
Godzilla-style bugs that we've seen a few times."
"We really don't want to go down there" Said Efof. Hopeing everyone
would agree with him. "Although it might be fun to throw MK7 down for
a laugh."
Amber pointed to a ledge at the other side. "That's the way to the
bridge."
"How do the Hymenoptera get across?" Asked Efof, doing his best
curious alien impression. Then he instantly found out, as some
Hymenoptera came out of the hole at the other side of the rift and
walked along the walls like ants.
A canary that was bringing up the rear was suddenly yanked backwards
and Mk7 started shooting towards the rear.
"They're behind us too!" yelled Peter. "What are we going to do?!"
