Dinner With Friends - Pt. 7

Jennifer nodded toward the two and quickly wrote down their request. “Alrighty,” She chimed and internally cringed at how her country twang rang out quite notably in that moment. As much as she tried to sound more like a city girl, she had no control over how her voice was at times. “I'll have yer drinks right up.”

Turning, she slipped away to the kitchen so that Alex and Inessa could decide on what they intended to eat. Why had the guy told her where he worked? That seemed a little odd to do when speaking with a waitress that would probably just serve food and drinks to you every time you came into the building. Right?

Shrugging it off, she got the glasses and filled them with ice. Grabbing a sparkling water, she opened the can and carefully poured it into one of the glasses, adding a lime as Inessa had requested. Taking the other, she filled it with coke from the machine. Setting them aside, she snatched up a few straws and did a double check to make sure she'd gotten everything right.

With that done, she grabbed the drinks and soon returned to the little couple. Setting the sparkling water near Inessa and the coke near Alex, she set down two straws for them.

“So, ya two ready to order or do ya need a few minutes?” Jen asked.
