Dakota sighed and shoved her hands in the pockets of her hoodie. “ I’m sorry.. you’re right.. it’s just… dude is nuts and just a lot of drama that I didn’t wanna drag you into.” She said looking down at her shoes “thank you though” it was nice of him to take up for her. It had been a while since anyone had.

“Um sure ok I’ll just drop these off at my car.” She said and walked out to do just that. She texted her father that she would be out for a while, Not that he would notice much, and walked back to the bookstore to wait outside for Alex.
