Job opened and filled less than 24 hours later

Kate had the day off from the Crows. She was at The Hold Up her restaurant/gay bar depending on the time of day. The person who ran it day to day just announced she was moving out of state. Kate was looking for a new manager while sitting at the bar. She preferred the noise over the quiet of her office.

Helena was having lunch. She sent back her drink for the fourth time. "Again?" "She says says you are not using enough Fernet-Branca." Kate looked up. "Do we even carry Fernet-Branca?" The bartender looked over. "No. Never heard of it. Looked it up. We have one of the recommended substitutes, Amaro Braulio." Kate looked it up herself. "Let me talk to her." The waitress took Kate to the customer.

"My name is Kate. I own this establishment. I'm sorry to inform you that we do not carry Fernet-Branca. My bartender looked up substitutes for it and found we carry Amaro Braulio." Helena looked up when Kate arrived, making sure to check Kate out as she looked up. "That explains it." Kate noticed the customer checking her out. Before the conversation could continue. Another employee came up and whispered into Kate's ear. "Your drinks are on me. I am sorry but I must be going." Helena spoke up. "I believe I can help you with your problem." When Kate looked over puzzled, wondering how she could have heard the whispered conversation. Helena just tapped her ear. "Excellent hearing. Let me make a call, I can have your distribution problem fixed."

Kate returned to her laptop and but she watched the customer from the mirror. Helena began speaking in Italian on her phone. After a few minutes Helena hung up the phone. "I fixed your distribution problems, the order is being overnighted and should be here late tomorrow afternoon. I got a 5% discount on this order and the next five orders." Kate was impressed. "I have an opening for a position in management, you would run the day to day operations. It's yours if you want it on a trial basis." Helena thought it over for less than a second. "Sure." Kate stood up and shook Helena's hands. "After you finish eating meet me in the office area upstairs."
