The Duhgal

Lamar walked toward the head of his clan's caravan with his spear in hand and flanked on either side by two warriors who stood taller than him by several inches.

The rest of the clan made up of men, women, and children of various ages followed behind, warriors staying to the outside for protection.

Several smaller carts were pulled by the younger adults and teens who had yet to earn their spears. A couple larger wagons were pulled by teams of Okapi, domesticated and trained by the tribes long ago. Tales of the Ancients said the creatures were once not native to the land, so the Duhgal saw them as special and treated them well.

As the clan crested a hill on the road they saw the ruined city ahead of them. There the clan would trade goods and barter for supplies before moving on to seek hunting grounds in the forests beyond.

Lamar called several of the warriors to his side as they neared the city, including his two sons.

"Be ever watchful here. These people are not as familiar with our ways as others. They may try to cheat us in our trades or steal when we are not watching."

The clan started to enter the city, warriors assigned to watch over those who would barter and the carts of goods they had with them to trade. Lamar kept his two warriors close to his side and made for the center of the city in search of information on the roads and people beyond.
