Lopsided Agreement
JP with Jaxx, Redsword, Trustno1 and Cindy
Agent Powers was a bit confused by the story since it was about Russia so he kept quiet and gave the Prince a quiet smolder. Ekaterina on the other hand found the story intriguing as she nodded her head and replied, "Does this mean someone from that era is behind the mystery of the theater?”
Alyssa waited on a response from the Prince, nothing he had said explained why they had been requested to come here tonight.
"Not exactly, The Red Star will appear again soon, some see it as a sign of the coming end times. Whether that be a man-made creation or "Gehenna" from our own lore. There are many interpretations about that as well. Some say it could even be the biblical end times as described in the Book of Revelation. From where you are As bees, you worry about the dreaming ones waking up and things in the darkness whatever that may be....... The Prince shot a glance at Alyssa. He had a seemingly knowing look on his pale face that matched oddly with his blonde hair.
He would continue. "Changes to our structure have caused many kindred, especially older ones, to become extremely paranoid about the end of the world. One of these is Mr. Skorzeny, the owner of the theater in Gary. You know him by a different name. Louis Pasteur. After living several hundred years like myself, but not being able to take the stress of it, Louis Pasteur is looking for a way to end his unlife.
The way he plans to do it causes problems for what is left of Gary, which should be under my domain and the domain of the tower rather than Modius and the Anarch's as well as my city of Chicago.
Pasteur began experimenting with a way to cure what he calls "the disease " he conducted an experiment a few weeks ago, that was the reason the three bodies of the young men were found to have been drained of blood. They were recently sired illegally by Louis and joined him in his experiment to attempt to cure themselves.
Louis Pasteur seeks to commune with an ancient god so old that it is possibly even older than the antediluvians.
He wishes to use his favor gained with whatever this is to unleash a creature on the opening night of the theater. If he's not stopped it could destroy both what is left of Gary as well as the entire city of Chicago.
I'm going to need your help in stopping this."
Kolchak stood up.
"Each person in the field is going to be issued one of these and one of these," said Kolchak. He produced several wooden stakes and hammers. The pilot handed them to each member of the team.
Ekaterina looked at the hammer and stake and looked at Agent Powers who seemed intrigued. She then asked, "Are the hammers and stakes special by chance or can they easily be replaced with those found in a hardware store? Do keep in mind many of us have yet to encounter a Kindred.”
The look from the Prince didn't go unnoticed by the hacker. He knew, and she had to wonder if perhaps the vampire knew more about the Darkness than she did.
Alyssa stared at the hammer and stakes, and almost made a comment but Ekaterina speaking stopped her from saying anything.
"They are regular wooden hammers and stakes," said the helicopter pilot.
"You want us to pound these into Skorzeny's chest?" asked Sartre.
"No, into his heart." said Kolchak.
"From what I've read, staking a vampire doesn't kill them. It immobilized them. So, are we also going to have to get Skorzeny somewhere that will kill him, like outside on a sunny day? Alyssa asked, because that would make the job that much harder.
"We could stake him and cut his head off." said Kolchak.
Agent Powers shrugged and said, "Or we could stake him and toss his corpse into a steel forge and roast him till nothing is left. I am sure there might be a closed auto factory or two around we could use.”
"Alyssa, what do you think?" asked Sartre.
"Either should work. The forge though will probably require us moving the body to a second location." Alyssa responded. "Getting us inside wouldn't be an issue. Or they're might be another way to make it so there's nothing left of the body." She did have the ability to do that but shouldn't probably say in front of mixed company. "Let's get him staked first." She turned to the Prince. "Who else do want gotten rid of or was he the only one?”
"Just him. I can deal with Modius later." said Lodin.
Agent Powers rubbed his chin for a bit as he pondered what to ask his father for next. Then Princess Ekaterina nodded as she elegantly replied, "I see. I believe we should be able to accept this request. However I hope this will aid us in creating a proper trusting friendship between our sects in the future." Ekaterina was using this mission as a way to get the Kindred to cooperate with the others sects in the future.
Alyssa glanced to Ekaterina, her comment hoping for a continued alliance between the factions and the Kindred, had been a smart one, which was not at all surprised. The hacker then glanced to the Prince as they awaited his response.
"Indeed, I may need your help again." Lodin motioned his hand towards the door.
"Wait," Alyssa said. "What if we need your help? This seems a bit one-sided." Her filter could only last for so long, after all.
Ekaterina saw Alyssa concerned by the lopsided agreement and elegantly smiled, "Perhaps we could begin with sharing information related to world threats as a beginning of our bond. Surely we could build upon that down the road? Perhaps we can each have a liaison from our sects communicate via computer on such matters?" Ekaterina was working on building a bridge using the world threat as a motive.
Lodin said, "Miss Wilson, can you create a contact on Shrecknet? I can contact you there.”
"Yes," Alyssa knew that would be easy enough. "I'll go by ptichka." Which the Prince would know it was the term for bird, in Russian.
"Let's figure something out" said Sartre as they left.
"How should we go about this Agent Wilson?" Sartre asked.
"Lets go back to the house and figure it out." Alyssa wanted everyone's input and now wasn't the best time to discuss their options.
