Intruder

JP with Jaxx, Redsword, Trustno1, and Cindy

As the night moved into its late evening hours, the camera picked up the sound of feet crunching on leaves. The infrared, showed what appeared to be a well-built man in his thirties making his way through the darkness.

Ekaterina then gets a warning from her bugs and small rodents that someone is approaching the house. She looks at the others and elegantly says, "We seem to have an intruder." Agent Powers checks his phone and sees Ekaterina was indeed correct as he replies, "Do we greet them or do I break them?”

Alyssa awoke suddenly, she noticed the alarm on her phone going off. "Peter, get up. There's an intruder.” She was in sleep clothes, a set of shorts that weren't overly short and a tank top, she threw on a sweatshirt and headed for the door to their room.

As he got dressed, he said "Take this handgun Agent Wilson." He tossed her an iron 9 mm handgun. "Ready to go?" he asked "Do you want to lead or do you want me to go in front of you?”

Agent Powers pulled his large golden pistol from his pocket and then pulled out a mini pump 12g shotgun from the other pocket for Ekaterina and handed it to her as they moved in the direction of the intruder.

"You go first. You're the better shot." Alyssa was also thinking Max wouldn't be happy at her going first.

Sartre took the lead, making his way slowly out the front door as the other two followed, as they made their way into the misty night. Out of the gloom emerged a figure.

He raised his hands in the air.

"I'm Anthony Vincenzo, I work with Carl Kolchak, I serve as his editor for our website which is an independent new service. We are looking to start up a television show, or what used to be called a television show. They call it live streaming now, we plan on calling it Phenomenon X.

We investigate the paranormal as citizens for the public good. The public has the right to know. We know there is vampiric activity going on here in Gary. We also know that you secret societies like to control things behind the scenes."

Vincenzo waited

Hearing he wasn't a threat, Alyssa stepped out from behind Peter. "Well, coming to our house in the middle of the night is not the best way to approach us about anything." She shook her head, and sighed. "Peter or Max, one of you frisk him, make sure he has no weapons, listening or recording devices.”

Sartre approached Vincenzo cautiously, he patted him down quickly and did not feel any metals on the man's body.

"He's clean, what do you say we do team leader?" " He would continue. "Mr. Vincenzo, it's almost 1 o'clock in the morning, and the three secret societies which you have only looked at on webpages are way more equipped to handle this than you. Your friend the helicopter pilot is trained. But I would suggest that you let us handle this."

The editor stepped back.

"That's what I was trying to tell you. Kolchak is already in Chicago talking to that Camarilla, whatever that means aligned vampire." said Vincenzo.

Agent Powers gave the man a smolder as he made his chest muscles pop up and down. Ekaterina elegantly put her to her chest as she stopped aiming at the man. Agent Powers gestured to Alyssa as he said, "Don't try anything funny.”

Stepping out from the shadows just appearing. Sung looked at everyone with his sword drawn. "Two minutes, almost three responding is not bad. Now you all have said too much to this man, and I have not yet decided if he will live or die. I heard what he said. We still do not know if it is true, right?" said Sung, staring at the man. He had a hint of doom in his tone. To everyone there, Sung was very Intimidating. The feeling of dread radiates off him. "Can any of you vouch for him?" asked Sung. He had a terrifying look on his face looking very formidable.

"What do you say team leader?" asked Sartre.

Alyssa looked at Sung. There was a sense of domance radiating off of the man. Still,"I do not believe killing him is the right way to handle this. However, I do not know him or can I vouch for him." The hacker was pretty sure the rest of the team couldn't vouch for the man either. "Why don't we all go into the house and we can discuss it there.”

"Mr. Vincenzo, there's nothing to worry about, we can discuss this if you come back to the house with us, you've woken us up very early in the morning. We can sleep during the day. Alyssa , we can head for Chicago tomorrow." said Sartre. He headed for the house with the hacker, bodyguard and editor.

Agent Powers and Ekaterina followed them but were still on guard since they knew nothing of the man who woke them up at the wee hours of the night. Both of them suspected this man may be a creature of the night since he didn't come by in the morning.

Alyssa walked towards the door that lead to the kitchen, opened it and ushered the man in. She offered him a seat at the table. "So, Mr. Vincenzo can I get you anything? Coffee, tea, soda? Maybe a late night snack." She was testing him, in her own way.

"This early in the morning coffee, would work." said Tony Vincenzo. He would continue, I'm sorry I interrupted your sleep. If you can all get some sleep in the day, I can go with you to Chicago and maybe figure out what Carl is doing. Getting that close to vampires is not safe. But neither is being a helicopter pilot and a member of joint special operations command." said the editor.

Alyssa started making some coffee. She raised a brow at Tony's request. "Well, there is nothing stopping you from going to Chicago, but, we have a meeting to attend. You'd be on your own during that time.”

"Oh, I'll be going with you. Kolchak will be in the meeting with you." said Vincenzo.

That was news to Alyssa, "If that's true. Tell me then who we're meeting with." She put sugar and milk on the table and poured out cups of coffee for anyone that wanted one. Handed the cups out, then sat down with her own. She then got up from the table, "I'll be right back." Stepping into another room, the hacker got on to her phone to find out if Tony checked out.

"He's meeting with Prince Lodin of the clan Ventrue. He was some war hero in the Mexican-American war which is why he was turned into a vampire." said Vincenzo.

Agent Powers looked at Vincenzo with a smolder. He was curious as to why this stranger felt confident enough to waltz in at the wee hours of the morning and acting like he was in charge of the mission. Either this Vincenzo guy was well connected.......or he was the biggest idiot in the whole wide world. Agent Powers would not hesitate to turn him into a pretzel if this Vincenzo was a liability to the team. Ekaterina on the other hand was sizing Vincenzo up as she was trying to figure out his angle by butting into this very dangerous mission. Then Ekaterina asked, "Mr. Vincenzo what are you hoping to gain by joining this meeting?”

"Keeping Kolchak under control." said the editor.

Alyssa returned, and sat back down at the table. "Well, he seems to be who he says he is." She didn't say if that was a good thing.

Sung stayed back to let the others figure this new guy out. He watched him carefully, sitting in a chair away from the table with his sword next to him. Sung had said his peace about the man, but if he missed stepped, Sung would end him immediately.

"I think it would be all right if we took Mr. Vincenzo with us tomorrow night." Said Sartre. He glanced to Alyssa, to give her a reassuring look.

Vincenzo said, "You bees and secret societies think you have the final say on everything. The public has a right to know." said Vincenzo as he looked to Alyssa.

"Well, I'm not leaving him here to go through our things." Alyssa was being her non-filtered stuff. "Mr. Vincenzo - or Tony - can I call you Tony? Doesn't matter I'm going to anyway. First of all: you do realize the only people that will believe you are the same people who think the Earth is flat. You can say whatever, most people write you off as a conspiracy theorist. Secondly, as of right now, I believe we do call the shots. After all, there's several of us - one of you and we're all armed. Actually, any one of us could probably take you. So, you might want to be a little more cautious in speaking to us." Yet, she somehow managed to sound more of a warning than a threat.

"There is also an asleep populace that numbers in the hundreds of millions if not billions in the world." retorted the editor to Alyssa. He would continue. "I would suggest that you pay attention tomorrow night when we talk to the Prince. You'll be surprised at what has really been going on at that theater and even more surprised at who has been behind it." Said Vincenzo.

Sung stood to his feet. "There is a reason why the common person does not know and is better off not knowing. Panic: how do you think they would act if it was the end of the world as we know it?" Stared Sung with ashen and little frustration. "You get it now. If you publish stuff about us, I can not say your life expediency would be long. I can not control what the different organizations will do.

Agent Powers cocked his head to the side at Vincenzo. He gave him a smolder and a long pause before he asked, "Are you on drugs dude?" Ekaterina sighed as she replied, "Mr. Powers he is a conspiracy theorist who spread his beliefs to the people through mass media." Agent Powers paused then asked, "So if he is a problem do I just kill him?" Ekaterina smirked as she replied, "Not unless he endangers us. Have you killed a civilian before?" Agent Powers nodded as he replied, "Oh lots of times, but they were living with drug lords so they knew it was going to happen eventually. I remember this one chubby guy begging for me to spare his life. He whined about being brought there against his will and he was scared for his life and the lives of his family so I told him I would let him go and walked away." Ekaterina was amazed as she asked, "So you let him go?" Agent Powers shook his head no as he replied, "I was going to till the jack wad shot me in the back. I got mad and turned him into a pretzel before I put a Grenade up his butt and tossed him into a room." Ekaterina chuckled as she replied, "Oh my." Agent Powers shrugged as he replied, "Back then if I showed up at your door, you did something to bring me there.”

Sartre looked to Alyssa.

Alyssa was just listening to the conversation. She wondered why Peter was looking at her, she had pretty much said her peace. Still, she spoke up again. "Like I said Tony, most won't believe you. So, I'm not particularly worried about you say on your show. As for the Prince, I'm curious about what he has to say but I'm rarely able to be surprised." Alyssa paused. "As for everyone else, no deaths right now. If he gets out of line, we'll deal with UT then." She sipped some coffee, which was lukewarm now and didn't taste good. "Now, Tony you are welcome to stay in the extra room, but you'll be locked in, until we're ready to let you out. You will have a bathroom, but if you need drinks or snacks you might want to grab them.”

"Noting to fear Mr. Vincenzo. Reporters are to write stories, not become them. Lets head back to bed Alyssa, we go to Chicago technically tonight." said Sartre.

"Let's make sure our guest is settled for the evening." Alyssa stood up. "I have a lock that will work in the back of my van." She wasn't sure if anyone would walk out with her, but it didn't take long to find the lock and come back in. She then went upstairs with the lock and a screwdriver. It took about five minutes to install it. Then the hacker made her way back to the kitchen. "The lock is set up. Tony, are you ready?”

"Sure........." Vincenzo resigned.
