The Temptation

Choi looked at her, then asked, “How did a beautiful Israeli girl get mixed up with the Templars?”

The question didn’t phase Dahlia. “There has been an Israeli presence with the Templars since the Middle Ages,” she explained. “They have always had a liaison due to the Templars protecting the treasures from the temple in Jerusalem.”

“You mean the legend is true,” Choi asked. “The ark?”

Dahlia smiled. “And other things,” she sipped her champagne. “In case you haven’t picked up on my surname, Ben Aharon. It means Son of Aaron. I am one of the descendents of the priestly line.”

“So you are a priestess?” Choi questioned.

“No,” Dahlia giggled, seeing Choi was almost finished his champagne. She filled the cup. “I’m just a servant ensuring the protection of the treasures.”

She finished hers, then filled her cup. “Now, I’ve told me about me. What about you?”

“Nothing as exciting as that,” Choi said in disbelief that his life was so blasé compared to hers. “I was raised in a monastery in Jindo because my parents died when I was a baby. I became a Dragon under the training of Master Park there.”

“Master Park?” she brightened up, interested in his life. “Why didn’t he do missions with you.”

“I am on my own now,” Choi admitted. “He has a new mentee.”

“Are they on assignment now?” she questioned.

Choi wasn’t sure to fully trust Dahlia with this line of questioning. He could have admitted that Master Park was retired from missions because he was now known as the Ancient One. However, he still trained one person to become a new Dragon.

So, he lied, “They are in Bulgaria. They may have stumbled on werewolves.”

“Werewolves?” Dahlia raised a brow, impressed. She filled his cup again.

“No,” Choi insisted, “no more!”

She poured again, nearly breaking Choi’s heart.

“”I’m sorry,” he said apologetically. “I’m tired.”

Dahlia placed her hands together and uttered, “Netzach!” Her hands glowed, a faint blue light emanated from them. Pushing her hands toward him, the glow hit Choi in the gut region. Suddenly, energy burst through him.

“What did you do?” he spoke amazed.

“I spoke a sefirot of the Kabbalah,” she admitted. “It is translated as lasting ebdurance.”

He shook his head, no longer feeling tired. “What exactly do you want?” Choi ventured.

Leaning closer, Dahlia whispered exactly what she wanted into Choi’s ear, followed by a nibble at the lobe as her lips descended to kiss Yeong’s neck.

His body suddenly became as if it were electrified. Choi had never felt anything like this before. Master Sung had not mentioned anything of this nature. The body was shouting, “Go! Go! Go! Go!” but a red flag went up in his mind. Choi backed away from the pleasurable feeling upon his neck.

“Wait!” he demanded.

Another pouty face came from Dahlia. “You don’t find me attractive?”

Choi gave a frustrated sigh. “Yes. I do,” Choi admitted, “but I don’t exactly know how I feel about you yet. I want this,” he pointed to his neck, “what is happening now between us, this feeling coursing through my body for the first time in my life, I want it to mean something!”

“The first time in your life?” Dahlia sounded amused.

“I was raised in a monastery,” Choi quipped, then laughed.

Dahlia giggled as Choi offered, “We don’t even know each other yet.”

Dahlia smiled as she recorked the champagne. “I understand,” she affirmed. “We can take this time to get to know each other.”

“Thank you!” Choi expressed, relieved that she did understand.

“See you tomorrow at breakfast,” Dahlia assured him, giving him a kiss on the cheek. Then she got up, walked to the door, and left.

Choi’s hand found itself on the spot where her lips caressed his cheek. Yeong thought all of the females on the team wa a attractive. He didn’t know any of them well. In fact, the one he most knew was Alyssa, and that was very little. He didn’t want a one night stand. That would unbalance his life. For the life to be balanced, the social side of it needed lasting companionship instead of lasting endurance.

Despite what had happened, Dahlia had a smile upon her face. She did get some information about a Dragon mission. The first thing Dahlia would do before turning in would be sending that information to Templar HQ.
