The Tomb
Jp with mdman, Redsword, Jaxx, Trustno1 and Cindy
Alyssa stayed behind Powers, as promised. She also kept an eye and ear out for anything strange or dangerous.
Agent Powers had his guard up as he was prepared to blast the next target that popped out to attack them. He was fearless when it came to combat, since he was trained to do it at an early age. Granted he didn't know what his enemy was going to be outside skeletons, but he he felt confident in his gear and muscles. He had yet to find an enemy he could not kill. As he moved forward with a purpose he scanned the area for any movement.
It took a little time to walk the narrow tunnels. It was dark and dusty, the smell unbearable of old blood, things had died there was no second-guessing that. The tunnels lead into a large chamber with large stone doors across from the party. Bodies were lying around in different states of decay.
The Last Keeper. At an abandoned site in front of some massive stone doors, the party discovers a journal detailing a failed investigation to find the remnants of The Tomb of the Keeper holding a very old journal. That night, whoever reads the journal finds writings, the journal’s writer Ana. She encourages the party to pick up where her investigation left off, promising riches within the tomb of the Litch.
There is a silver necklace around the neck of Ana's remains. if Anima is channeled through it gives protection from evil.
Since ancient times, a secret arcane order has maintained vigil over the Tomb of the Litch, keeping the tomb’s evil sealed within. Now, the order’s ranks have dwindled to a single member, Ana. As lies on her deathbed, She asks for the party through her writing, begging them to enter the tomb and deal with the evil inside so that one needs to guard it ever again.
The tomb:
The characters scour around the front tomb and succeed in checking, they find the weathered entrance to the tomb partially buried in the dirt. The party each gains exhaustion, the feeling of being drained. uneasy like being tipsy, Speed is halved. You feel weak and feel like your stamina has been drained. Your Life force is halved, everyone is frightened. It is hard to move your body; it does not want to move forward to the doors.
The stone door to the tomb is magically sealed. A detect magic spell reveals that the door radiates an aura of abjuration magic. It is immune to all damage and can only be opened by providing a proper sacrifice
Loyal Sacrifice. The tomb’s door bears a carving of a skeletal hand encased in black fire. A person who is proficient in Arcana, History, or Religion recognizes it as a sign, commonly used in spell books and scrolls, to indicate when a spell deals necrotic damage to a person.
When a person enters a space within 5 feet of the door, an ancient voice carried on the wind whispers to them.
“The tomb requires a willing sacrifice of decay to prove your loyalty to the guardian or if you have no magic to offer, give us your blood and we will empower the decay.”
