Hearing voices

Johnathan drove carefully, obeying every law. His expression changed from annoyed to concerned when he heard shifting in the trunk. "Lydia, you alright?" He asked, keeping his eyes on the road.
"I can hear someone thinking about a secret society." She said quietly, focusing on tracking whoever she could hear in her head.
Johnathan slowed to a stop upon seeing a woman walking alone, and hearing Lydia. He rolled his window down and attempted to appear friendly, which wasn't something he was great at. "Not to sound like a creepy ma'am, but have you heard of a secret society...?" He asked, attempting to be vague enough to not reveal his knowledge of their society. In case the woman wasn't who Lydia was talking about, he had to be able to turn the conversation in any direction.
