Lydia to the Rescue (JP)
Underground Mutant Community - Wyoming
Lydia knocked on the door to Finalys room before entering. She was wearing tactical gear, a combat shirt, pants, and boots. "What the Hell?" She said outloud, watching Finaly shift into several different people... then she saw El with Shimmer. She nearly laughed, but kept it supressed - barely. "Hey El." She said, walking up to her old friend. "Hi Shimmer." She then walked over to where Finaly was on the ground and reached a hand out to him to help him up. "Finlay, the spider is domesticated... kind of. She's a friend. I promise you." She said, her voice carrying a softness that was so uncharacteristic for her that a nurse passing by the room peeked his head in the door way. "Let me help you up."
Finlay had managed to pull himself together. His form was back to himself, by the time Lydia was there offering a hand up, but as an eight year old. It took him a second to register who it was, because his attention was distracted on his immediate environment, thinking that spider could be lurking anywhere. When he finally slowed down enough to listen, he had a better understanding of the situation.
Finlay reached his hand up to take Lydia’s. “Thanks.” He said sheepishly as an embarrassed flush appeared on his cheeks. He needed to use some of her stability to get his feet back under him. Being a younger version of himself made him much lighter and easier to move about.
When he got back to his feet so he could see the rest of the room he instantly locked eyes on the spider again. Lydia could feel him tense up. “Are you sure about that spider?” He asked with a scared tone. He had heard stories of how post rupture creatures had evolved. His brother once told him there was even parasites that could mind control, like a zombie, living creatures.
Lydia smiled softly, a rare occurance, and nodded. "She's safe, I swear. Her and El are really good friends. They can communicate in a way." Lydia turned to El, checking to make sure that she was ok.
