Docking with the Chimaera

The T-6 One-Nine-Seven-Four landed inside the Chimaera. Ahsoka and Sabine exited their ship with some hesitation, both ready to draw their weapons in case this was a trap. Ashoka couldn't sense anything sinister coming from the Chimaera, but Palpatine worked for years alongside the Jedi as Chancellor without the Jedi catching on.

Ezra greeted them flanked by some of the Night Troopers. Ezra and Sabine hugged. "Welcome aboard the Chimaera. Follow me to a conference room, I'll explain the situation this entire region finds itself in. In a way, it is my fault, but it was bound to happen sooner or later." He pointed to the Night Trooper escort. "These are the Night Troopers, they are the Storm Troopers that were aboard the Chimaera went I had the Purrgils bring it here to eliminate Thrawn as a threat to the Rebellion. Their armor had to be fixed with resources available. Rather crude at times but I find it far more intimidating, too bad that doesn't work on our enemy, at least not that I noticed."

Once in the conference room, the Night Troopers waited outside. "I'll start at the beginning. Upon arrival in Chaos or as you know it the Unknown Regions, we arrived in the worst possible sector of space. That sector of space is ruled by an extremist race that hates technology. Their weapons are organic, their ships are organic, and their armor is organic. They are the Yuuzhan Vong." On the monitor, several images appear of living and dead Yuuzhan Vong. "They went to war with the rest of the races in Chaos long ago. The Chimaera's arrival was seen as the other races breaking the truce and they attacked en masse. Thrawn called a truce long enough to get us out of there. In this region, if you are not force-sensitive it is nearly impossible to navigate. I got us out of there. We had to repel some boarders. Once we got our bearings we made contact with Thrawn's people. Thrawn spoke with them at length for over an hour. During that several more races reported that they were under attack. About a week after that I met up with some people I never expected to meet here, Jedi. A little over four thousand years ago give or take two Jedi came to stop the Sith from the Unknown Regions from conquering the Republic. They eventually started a Jedi Enclave and began training people in the ways of the Force. It's quite different there, they openly encourage Jedi to become married. With the Jedi's help, I was able to obtain crystals for new Lightsabers." He showed off his Celadon Green & Pistachio Green lightsabers. "Unless you are repelling boarders keep your weapons holstered. The Night Troopers are a shoot first ask questions never type. Normally guests are not allowed to keep their weapons."

The monitor image changed to videos and pictures of several battles, some were renderings based on available data. "We are basically at a standstill with the Yuuzhan Vong at the moment, each side is winning almost as often as they are losing. If it keeps up at this pace though, we will lose within the next 2-5 years depending on who you ask, but everyone agrees that we will lose eventually if something drastic doesn't change soon."
