JP - The Line is Dead

“You realize the line is dead, right?” Delilah said as she finally walked down to see him.

“Well that was rude of here” Mark shrugged tossing the body into the incinerator “how was your day?”

“I’ve been hunting down a few more kids that need helping.” Delilah said as she sat on the bottom step. “James called and told me a few locations a few minutes ago, though, so there is that. He sounded…exhausted - I think this whole mess has him stressed out again. Klaire mentioned he’s been smoking a lot recently.”

“Considering everything the’s man has been through with his own children I think Klaire’s the only thing keeping him grounded at the moment” Mark replied wrapping his arm around her “Lyle and Alex aren’t doing so well themselves either.”

“I know, she mentioned Alex too…he’s been drinking again. She can smell it.” Delilah shook her head and leaned into Mark - her husband. “I don’t know what I’d do if something happened to you…”

“Probably give me the robocop treatment” Mark joked kissing the top of her head “unlike Murphy though make sure I get to keep my penis.” The last five years had been rough on everyone but Mark was thankful he had his wife to help him through it. “Hopefully learning Susi’s alive will motivate Alex enough to sober up.”

“I did send him a text about that.” Delilah said. “Don’t know if he’s gotten it yet because he hasn’t replied.”

“I’ll text Riley just in case” Mark replied pulling out his phone “now you mentioned dinner.”

“Yes, come on!” Delilah grabbed his hand and pulled him up the stairs with a happy laugh.
