<I feel like finishing that movie… Did you hear about that explosion? Frisk was over there.> Kiana said, switching the TV back to the DVD.

<Is Frisk okay?> Herbert asked as he hopped up onto the couch and sat down, stealing the very spot Gelf and Sorley had been in. The cushions were still warm from their body heat.

<She sounded tired and irritated, but I don’t think she was hurt or anything.> Kiana said, hitting play on the remote.

<Still, she’s a good medic, so I worry like you do about her.> Herbert said.

<Yeah. Sometimes I forget that she isn’t a meta, she has done so much for us.> Kiana said.

<Could I ever become human?> Herbert suddenly asked. <Like, could a scientist turn me into one or something.>

“What?” Kiana was so startled by the sudden subject change she spoke out loud. <Uh, I don’t know, maybe? I guess pigs and humans are already similar enough for organ transplants and cannibals say we taste like pork.>

Herbert just stared at her, forcing his mind to go blank for a long moment. Sighing, he just turned and watched the movie. It was going to be difficult to figure this out.

Kiana scratched behind Herbert’s ears. <Don’t worry, the vet will get you straightened out quick.>

<I don’t need a vet.> Herbert muttered, but didn’t argue any further. If it would put Kiana at ease, he’d go to the vet.

<I’m not playing Russian Roulette with an over the counter dewormer.> Kiana insisted.

<Chill, I’ll go to the vet,> Herbert replied, shoving her knee with a hoof.

<Good.> Kiana said, relaxing.

Herbert would fall asleep next to Kiana for the rest of the night, only to disappear into the nearby forest in the morning.
