Min stayed close to Elizabeth and Cook, shivering and dripping.

Elizabeth would go with Cook, keeping Min with them and found towels, clean clothes, and a room for them to stay in. “Thanks, Cook!” She chimed as the man left them to their own room.

Min got dried off and dressed. She sat on one of the beds. “I thought the Underground would be different.” She said, looking at one of the healed GCS brands on her arm.

“What do you mean?” Elizabeth asked.

“I expected it to be… darker.” Min shrugged.

“Why would it be darker?” Elizabeth tilted her head in confusion.

“I don’t know.” Min admitted. It was probably because of how metas were portrayed in the media.

“Not all metas are bad…” Elizabeth told her. “We’re proof!”

“I know.” Min said with a small smile.

Elizabeth smiled as well and her body formed a tail that began to wag like a happy puppy.

Min tried to relax. And she did not even know about being in a viral video yet.

While Elizabeth stayed with and comforted Min the best she could, Cook was informed of the video and intended to keep Min from seeing it for her own sake.

Min sat up, hearing a lot of activity in the hallway.

Cook would knock and Elizabeth would let him in. "What's going on?" She asked.

"Someone got captured while on a mission." Cook said and looked at them. "How are you both?"

Min shrugged. “I’m okay… It’s safe here?”

“Yeah,” Cook said with a nod. “We’ve got a lot of specialized security thanks to that Mark guy. Apparently the only way any of us can get into trouble is if we leave.

“So we’re safe. Awesome!” Elizabeth giggled and hugged Min gently.

Min nodded. “But how long can I stay here?”

“As long as you like,” Cook said, shrugging. “This place is a refuge for people that support metas and just anyone in need of help.”

“It seems too good to be true…” Min was mostly healed from what Clonestone did to her. She expected to end up back in the life she had been living before Clonestone picked her up.

“Get used to it, because it is true!” Elizabeth stepped back and twirled with a giggle.

“Things that were too good to be true… always ended badly for me.” Min admitted. While healing she had been able to avoid talking about her life before Clonestone.

“Maybe this is a real new beginning for you then.” Elizabeth told her and pulled her into a hug. “We’ll keep you safe.”

“I hope so.” Min said reluctantly.

"I know so!" Elizabeth smiled.

Min had the feeling Elizabeth never had to have sex with someone in order to not starve. She went quiet.

Elizabeth stopped and looked at Min, tilting her head to the side. “What’s wrong? You seem off…”

Min flushed and looked at the floor. While people were sympathetic to rape survivors, they turned judgemental if that same survivor was a pro. “It’s nothing…”

“You can tell me,” Elizabeth said. “I won’t judge you. Neither will ol’ Cook over there. Right Cook?!”

Cook gave them a thumbs up, finally relaxing in a regular pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and a coat. His shoes were just simple tennis shoes Delilah had found for him.

“It’s nothing.” Min said, feeling ashamed now.

“Aw, come on,” Elizabeth pulled her into a hug.
