JP - Grownups have things they don't like to think about
"Because sometimes as adults we have things that we don't like to think about and the only way to change that is to do something to keep our minds occupied," Riley explained "Your sister's not trying to purposely hurt herself it's just sometimes when she's working out she gets distracted in her own thoughts and next thing you know she's worked out more than she intended to."
“Is she thinking about when she drained her powers?” Ami asked.
"Yes but don't bring it up to your sister it's not something she likes to be brought up" Riley answered kneeling "All you need to know is that your sister loves you and is trying her best to raise you and Cody she's not perfect and she's going to make mistakes but just be there for her okay."
“What can I do?” Ami asked.
"Just keep doing what you've been doing, being a good sister to her" Riley chuckled.
“But she’s hurting herself.” Ami said, her big black eyes glistened with tears.
"And that's why she has me and your Aunt Klaire to make sure she gets help" Riley replied pulling her into a hug"we're going to make sure she gets better."
Ami hugged Riley back, shaking with sobs.
"It's ok Ami once we settle down again everything will get better" he promised.
“But we can’t… We always have to be moving because we’re metas.” Ami sniffled.
"Sooner or later we'll find a permit spot to settle just like the village" Riley replied "Even if we don't however I'll make sure your sister gets therapy again."
“She still talks to Leimomi every week.” Ami said, wiping her eyes with her sleeve.
"That's good but I'll keep an eye on her just in case as well" Riley replied.
Ami nodded. “I’m afraid she’s really going to hurt herself one of these times.”
"I'll keep an eye on her" Riley promised.
Ami hiccuped, she had been crying too hard.
"There there how about some ice cream?" Riley asked.
“Ok.” Ami perked up slightly. She sniffled. Ice cream fixes everything. Almost.
