JP - Colt Falls
“COLT! What the hell are you doing?” Frisk demanded.
“You tell him.” Tzeitel crossed her arms.
“You’re not off the hook either, Tzeitel.” Frisk said.
Tzeitel scowled. “I didn’t drink or hurt myself in the gym. I just looked at my fucking file.” Tzeitel took a $20 bill from her wallet and gave it to Ami.
Colt just kept going, trying to get past them all, but as Tzeitel had warned earlier, he misstepped and fell to the floor. A pained groan passed his lips as he landed, but he started to get up on his own.
Cody got to his feet and went toward Colt. “Let me help…you’re dealing with too much pain to be moving like this!”
“Dammit Colt!” Tzeitel said, but her face had softened with concerned as she joined Cody in trying to help Colt get up.
“You really should have stayed in bed.” Frisk said, looking the wind user over for fresh injuries, or reopening wounds.
Ami watched them worriedly.
“Looks like his IV was pulled out.” Cody said, gesturing to the new bandages from Tzeitel. “Let's get him back to bed, mom. Frisk, can you give him a new IV?” With Tzeitel’s help, he got Colt to his room and into the bed.
Emily stood up and followed the little group, watching with worry as well.
After Colt was back in bed Tzeitel went over to Ami and hugged her. “He’ll be okay.”
Frisk got Colt set up. “You really need to rest, Colt.”
Cody healed Colt just enough to help with the pain before going over to Tzeitel and Ami, gently taking Emily’s hand on the way.
Colt grumbled and sighed. “Sorry…I kinda just sprang out of bed in worry. I’ll try to get some proper rest, Frisk. Thank you…everyone…for the help.” His eyes fell on Tzeitel, that vulnerable look in his eyes again.
“Dammit…” Tzeitel hissed under her breath. She wished Colt could fall in love with someone who could love him back the way he needed.
“I know, you were helping Tzeitel.” Frisk sighed. “But you need to take care of yourself.”
Ami looked at Cody and the girl he was holding hands with.
“I promise to try to stay in bed.” Colt said to Frisk. “I just…instinct, you know?”
“I know.” Frisk said. “I told you to be her friend… at least it looks like she has calmed down now.”
Tzeitel fidgeted awkwardly and turned to her kids.
Colt nodded and leaned back in the bed, resting for now “I can’t change my feelings, though…” He whispered.
“I know.” Frisk said sympathetically, smoothing Colt’s silver hair back from his face. She knew it was pointless to tell Colt that Tzeitel will never love him that way.
“I know she’ll never love me, Frisk…I just…” He sighed, his single cat ear twitching. “I’m just a fool, I guess…”
“I’m sorry, Colt.” Frisk said. She wished it was possible, Colt would keep her safe and take care of her. But Frisk knew Tzeitel couldn’t.
Colt just kept quiet now, staring at the ceiling.
“Is there anything I can do?” Frisk asked Colt.
“Not really…not right now, anyway. I should rest, though. You’re right about that part…” He chuckled softly and yawned.
“Okay.” Frisk said, tucking Colt’s blankets around him.
“Thank you, Frisk…” Colt said and tried to get some sleep.
