JP - Saving Joel
After talking to Abraham, Caneclone hung up and settled down to wait. “Help is coming.” He told Joel.
Joel merely moaned in pain.
“It’s okay, I think that is help!” Caneclone said when he saw the red car approaching.
Abraham stared at Caneclone. “He’s…acting odd.”
“Keep that special tranquilizer ready.” Frisk said as she pulled over.
Caneclone walked towards Trevor with a smile. “He’s in the back of the van. I did what I could.”
Nodding to Frisk, Abraham made sure he had the tranquilizer loaded and ready, keeping it out of sight.
Frisk got into the back of the van and looked at Joel. “Hey, Joel, can you hear me?” Frisk asked, taking his vitals.
Joel grabbed her wrist and looked into her eyes with a panicked expression. "Riley…….Taken……. Thrane……" he choked out before coughing up blood and losing consciousness.
Frisk did what she could for Joel, waiting for a ‘bus’ from the Underground because she could not comfortably put Joel in Trevor.
Caneclone looked at Abraham. “So is she the doctor and you’re her secretary?” He asked disarmingly.
“No, I am just a friend.” Abraham answered with a frown. “Please refrain from being nosy.”
“I’m sorry. I just haven’t met anyone from… from this before.” Caneclone apologized.
“What do you mean by from this?” Abraham inquired. “From the world of metas?”
Caneclone nodded. “I was a prisoner for being meta for most of my life… as far back as I remember anyways.”
Abraham raised an eyebrow. “Interesting…how did you get free?”
“A beautiful cat girl with pink hair set me free.” Caneclone said dreamily. “I want to find her again.”
“That sounds like someone I know…” Abraham muttered as he walked toward the van. “Everything okay in there, Frisk?!”
“He’s in bad shape, they’re sending one of their ambulances-” Basically a van set up like an ambulance. THe Underground did not use flashing lights or sirens. She tossed Abraham her keys. “I’m gonna ride with him, you can take Trevor. How is our first responder?” The medic asked, her eyes flicking to Caneclone.
“He’s…very different.” Abraham said, knowing she’d get what he meant.
“Do you think he needs something special or not?” Frisk asked as the Underground’s van pulled over.
“Unsure yet, but I’ll keep an eye on him.” Abraham assured her.
“Are you taking him with you back there?” Frisk asked as she helped the other medics get Joel on a stretcher.
Abraham shook his head. “No. I’ll take him to one of my safehouses.”
“Okay. Be careful.” Frisk said, climbing into the ambulance with Joel.
