JP - Ami is figuring things out
Riley waited for the girls to leave before turning the River "we have got to find her someone" he said with a sigh referring to the cat girl that wasn't banging Joel.
River nodded slowly. “Got any suggestions?” She inquired as she mixed some berries together to make a jam out of.
Ami quietly listened in as she shuffled her worn out deck of cards.
"Don't exactly know many single metas right now" Riley replied with a shrug "Alex won't betray Susi and Lyle well I don't know what type of shape he is in mentally right now."
“Hopefully he’s blending in well enough wherever he is…” River murmured, watching the children.
"Even if he wasn't I doubt anyone's brave enough to question him" Riley chuckled wrapping his arms around River in a hug. He knew what Lyle was going through. He had already lost River in another timeline and couldn't imagine never getting her back. "I worry about him last time I saw him was after he hunted down those responsible and just seemed like he was waiting to die."
Ami found a couple of travel-sized games. She got the travel Monopoly and brought it over to Amber and the twins. She hoped they would not fight over who got to play the dog.
“When the person you love is gone it can be…stressful.” River said. “Or worse, your heart and soul feel empty. It’s how I felt when my father disappeared…and died…and now I’ve heard rumors of a man running around with his face hunting down metas.”
Ami learned a lot of things she probably was not supposed to, with and without her powers. She chose the hat as she eavesdropped on River and Riley.
"I'm just not sure what I'm going to do once he is done helping us" Riley sighed "I can't go through what I promised him it's not what Juliet would want for him but at the same time he's hurting."
“We’ll figure something out or I’ll trap him in trees and force him through therapy.” River said as she went to grab some coffee. “Ami, you want anything to drink?” She called.
“Some strawberry kool-aid?” Ami asked as if she had not been listening in.
“Haluan kahvia!” Piritta called from over her phone sending 10th Kingdom memes, because River liked to play waitress for the Finn.
"Sounds like a plan to me" Riley chuckled knowing his wife was serious with her threat. "As for your father's doppelganger, we will look for him once we find Susi."
“If we don’t run into him first…” River muttered as she got the drinks and gave Ami hers first because she was always such a sweetheart in the plant woman’s mind. “How is your power development going?” She asked as Colt walked into the room.
Ami shrugged. “It’s good, but Tzeitel doesn’t like me using it without her knowing… She’s afraid it will cost me something like it used to cost Cody, or drain me… I don’t think my power works that way.” She glanced guilty at the drawer holding the local directory she had already absorbed information from with her powers.
While Colt was absorbed in that odd call, she listened to Ami. “Has it felt like it’s done anything to you? I mean…it stopped affecting Cody.” River commented.
Ami shook her head. “I just get to learn things faster. I don’t get hungry like Cody did, or grow too fast or anything like that.” Of course after learning what Ami’s power actually was the first thing Tzeitel did was lock up her file, and Canestone’s file. Ami had seen how Cody reacted to reading her sister’s file and knew she probably did not want to know what was in there, though she had overheard the adults talking enough and was getting old enough to start figuring things out. She was a smart kid.
