JP - Soup with Loreen

Riley would arrived the scene once they are too far away looking around he would find Bronte's phone "Delilah it's Riley they're gone."

“FUCK!” Delilah could be heard hitting a table. “Are there any clues to where they might have gone?!”

"I'm seeing blood on the road so it's possible they might seek out medical attention" Riley replied inspecting the area " traditional doctor is out so my guess is they'll seek out a vet."

“They probably will get rejected by a vet if they take the dog girl to one…” Delilah said. “Shit…I’ll have Mark keep his surveillance on for anything. You get home…”

"Keep an eye on the vets they're a lot easier to break into and not as busy as hospitals plus sometimes the medicine can work just as well for humans" Riley replied before heading home and appearing winded in his and River's bedroom.

River looked at Riley, knowing almost instantly something was wrong. Thankfully, Amber was asleep in Klaire’s room, having been distracted by the twins most of the day. “What happened?” She asked him softly, pulling him close.

Riley laid down on the bed pulling her with him "very long day" he sighed "Evie wasn't at the facility, Haven miscarried, and to top it off I was this close to catching Canestone but now he's escaped with this crazy water chick and three hostages."

“Three?!” River gasped, anger boiling. “Then we’ll find them.” Hugging him tightly, she stroked Riley’s hair. “Rest for now. You need it. Plus, we have to deal with Loreen at some point…”

Riley sighed and nodded "how was she today while I was gone?"

“Pretty quiet. She came into the kitchen while Tzeitel and I were talking, asking for water.” River said and sighed heavily. “I understand Tzeitel’s caution, but she doesn’t need to say those names in front of Loreen…I got her back in her room and locked the door. I don’t think Loreen understands what’s going on. She’s so confused. I had to show her how to use the shower…”

"I'll go check on her hopefully she's dressed" Riley replied getting up before chuckling.

"She was still dressed when I left her." River said, watching him. She hoped this thing with Loreen might distract him.

Riley gave her a kiss before heading to Loreen's room and knocking on the door.

Loreen looked up from where she sat on the bed. “Hello?” She inquired hesitantly. In only a towel she was sitting on the bed with her hair dripping. All over her body, what could be seen anyway, were surgical scars as if someone had opened up every part of her body from the neck down. Upon seeing them in the bathroom she had suffered strange flashbacks to hands strapping her limbs down and being forced to watch as they cut into her.

How was she alive, though? She didn’t understand that part.

Riley was taken aback for a moment never expecting to find dressed like this, unless you counted his wife's stories. " Sorry, i thought you'd be dressed" he apologized looking away "everything alright?"

“There are no clean clothes in here,” Loreen told him as she tightened the towel around herself. “I…I finished the water River brought me. I don’t think I’m very welcome here…”

Riley disappeared for a moment before bringing her some clothes " these should fit though they might be a little tight." Turning around so she could get dressed he continued"it's hard to explain but before your memory loss you caused a lot of harm to us."

“I…did?” Loreen pulled on the clothes and grimaced. The only “tight” part was at her chest. Trying to ignore the obvious discomfort, she looked at Riley. “I..I’ve tried to remember, but all I ever see are flashes of a man cutting into me…”

Riley turned back around and sat on the bed "I'm guessing that was intentional on Megacorp part they wanted to know all your secrets, you are one of the smartest mind in the world."

“If I’m so smart why can’t I remember anything and was found on the side of the road?” She asked, setting her hands in her lap and trying to tug the sleeves down to hide the strange surgical scars.

"I'm guessing it's either a side effect of intentionally done to keep their secrets" Riley replied placing a hand on her shoulder.

Loreen didn’t know and a part of her really didn’t want to know. If she had been such a horrible person, she didn’t want to remember. “Will I be able to come out of this room?” She asked.

"How about we step out of the room and get some fresh air?" He offered.

“Won’t that girl get mad, though?” Loreen asked.

"I'll be with you so it's fine" Riley answered " plus I'm sure she's asleep."

Loreen was hesitant but nodded and got up. The pants were a bit short on her, stopping just above her ankles and made her look far younger than she actually was. It was almost comical if not for the odd scars on her.

Riley tried not to look, wondering if River chose these clothes on purpose "weird not seeing you in a lab coat" he said leading her into the kitchen "are you hungry?"

“Lab coat?” She looked confused and followed him to the kitchen, her stomach growling audibly. “Uhm…I think that means yes.”

"What would you like to eat?" Riley chuckled sitting here down at the island and texting River to see if she was hungry " and yeah you were a scientist so you wore a lab coat."

River: Be there in a sec.

Loreen watched him mess with the phone, tilting her head. “What is that?” She asked and looked around the kitchen as she sat down. “Uh…they let me have potato soup a lot at the facility…I think. It’s hard to remember.”

Riley nodded and went about fixing her a hearty soup "it's a phone. i was texting River to see if she was hungry" he answered his hands a blur as he prepped everything.

She tried to watch his hands, but had to look away - the blurriness was giving her a small headache. “River is very nice to me…”

Speaking of the plant woman, she walked in with a yawn. “Do I smell soup?”

"Yup would you like a bowl dear" Riley asked with a smile on his face as he gave Loreen a bowl.
