Fighting Demons (Part Three)

Madaya had watched her older friend's attempt at fighting the two men. When it became clear Islana needed help, brown eyes glanced to the dagger and back towards where the redhead was.

At that moment, the young girl made her decision and quickly but silently moved towards the men. Before they could notice and without trying to think too much on it, the dagger had been taken to the back of their legs.

It achieved the response Madaya had wanted but got one of the old men chasing after her; to young eyes both men looked old. While he was taller and stronger, Madaya had youth and faith. A tree appeared slightly ahead of where her legs were taking her. Picking up speed, the young penitent arrived at the tree and went up. Leaving Alcuin with his age at the bottom.

Stram had lunged at Islana but the distraction and the injury to his leg had slowed him. The redhead rolled out of the way and quickly got away from the man. Managing to retrieve her sword. Stram came after her, but she wasn't running. The two men had to die. Islana would be damned before this fight was lost.

The battle between the two went on. The huntress tried to ignore the pain to her side and hand. Her sword slashed through the air landing a cut to Stram's right arm. Stram took a swing at her, leaving a cut in her belly. Back and forth it went on. Seemingly there was no end in sight.

Islana had no idea what Alcuin was doing and hoped he hadn't caught her young friend. Still fighting one was better than fighting both but if this wasn't over soon, there was no question the bounty hunter would come back.

Movements took them away from the fort or the fort began to fall away, it was difficult to say but suddenly Islana found herself near the edge of a cliff not completely sure how they had arrived here.

Stram must have noticed as well because he began pushing her back towards the edge. Islana tried to move towards the side but Stram was ahead of that move and blocked her. Right at the edge now, one wrong step and she would go over.

The redhead fought back never losing sight of two things- she had to win and The Twins - the Penitent had faith they were on her side.

Right on the precipice, of life or death. Stram ran at her, she lunged at his legs, taking him down. A bite to his hand. The clang of a sword hitting the ground and Islana suddenly had the upper hand.

With all of her might, a knee to the groin and a push upward made Stram roll off of the young woman.

He scrambled to his feet, clearly still in pain. For the first time, the look on his face gave away his idea before the action took place. He ran at her full force, she sidestepped. The momentum was too much and as Stram tried to stop his body, slipping and falling over the edge.

Islana stood there for a moment in shock as the man plummeted to his death.

Emerald eyes caught sight of Alcuin circling a tree, her ears catching the taunts at Madaya. One down, one to go.
