18: Moonstone

Cecilia was torn about what to do about Moonstone. Barely functional she could not get by as a person in society, as a large cat she would be hunted down by animal control, and as a cat... If she didn't end up in a rescue centre again some predator would get her, injure or kill her.
She was sentient and from the tests quite intelligent, not academically but she was sharp and a swift learner.
"Moonstone," she said talking directly to the girl. "You understand that you were in an animal rescue centre? That is where Emma and Joshua met you. But my examination shows that this form you are in now is your normal form. You were born a person, a human, like us. You are safe here on the island and you can live here freely. You will need to learn about how to live as a person, it will take some time. But I think you could do well here."
