20: It's All in the Game

Seasoned he may have been but with the exception of Johnny Gallo most everyone else in the Xterminators gaming clan were way better than he was. But as a relative newcomer they all assured him he was doing really well.
No one wanted Final Word and there was a few minutes of snack fuelled discussion about Tekken but as several of them had been in combat training with Sontaag and Bishop, so Tekken was soon sidelined.
Eventually they settled on Eve Online. The group that regularly played had been backstabbed by Golden Bough, supposed allies, and they were out for revenge. Golden Bough were setting up to take over a medium sized corporation and if things went to plan the Xterminators could put the kibosh on that.
“Hey Ryusaku, are you really calling up a smurf?” The smurf account was an alternate account that Ryusaku used to play at a lower rank than his usual proficiency.
“You cannot rely on me to carry you through the whole game Sophie. Several of you were… what was the phrase Gaius used?”
“Shitting themselves all over the map,” Gaius provided.
“Indeed. No one will improve by being carried. I will use this for now. If we need more then I will change later. My main character is already in position if needed.”
“Can’t you play both at the same time?”
“That would be cheating Gaius.”
Glances were exchanged but everyone knew that arguing with Ryusaku was a pointless activity at the best of times.
