04.01: Dead Girl

Harry had walked around the area in daylight, it felt different at night. This was an old town and old places were loaded with vestigia. Harry knew that life was the source of magic; it was therefore the source of vestigia. These were the imprint that life leaves on physical objects or places. Very few people sensed vestigia but those trained to pick it up may experience smells, tastes, sounds, and feelings related to original events. The older the place the more vestigia there were. The intensity of vestigia related to the intensity of the incepting event, time, and the material and/or location it occurred in.
There were tracks he could sense in the local vestigia. Anti-life such as the rare vampire absorbed and destroyed the traces left by life. This was more like ripples.
Harry hadn’t encountered something like this before but Steven had asked him to come and take a look so that is what he had done.
There had been someone different in this area.
Someone different.
Maybe it was a mutant of some kind.
Harry walked on, his curiosity definitely piqued.
