14: War of the Worlds (Ethan POV)

After a long brow beating from an assortment of Xavier School, "Know-it-alls," Ethan found himself thrust into another scenario but he was commanded explicitly work as a teammate. He wasn't familiar with working with these students but adapting was part of the expectations.

Illyana was engulfed by blood sucking weeds so a surgical use of a laser would cut through the monstrous plants and save the blonde. He made sure to speak into his "comms" before revealing himself as to not startle them.

"Who is your squad leader? I got Illyana," Ethan sliced through either side of Illyana's area cutting two long laser burning the weeds and cauterizing them in the same instant.

"Are you alright?" Ethan asked the tangled mess that was the Russian mutant and her carnivorous salad-monster. He noticed that the weeds still were wriggling and that just looked disgusting as they looked like giant green worms with petals and teeth.

Ethan focused himself on burning the weeds off of Illyana with surgical precision. He made sure to keep his eyes on the combat area so he didn't leave himself got unawares like he did in the previous scenario.
