Chocolate Cake And Possum Love

Looking up from her laptop, River offered Chris a kind smile and nodded. "Sure," She answered in her soft voice. "Chocolate cake sounds really yummy right about now. I don't want much anything else, though. I'm still working off that pizza from earlier."

River was feeling a fondness for this child. He was very kind and she felt no fear around him. A part of her wondered if she would ever get over her fear of men one day.

Shrugging off the thought, she kept working on her laptop while chatting happily with Chris.

Grabbing his backpack, Kevin followed Max and Bonnie outside. Glancing back at the store once he was out, he frowned. "I'll be fine...how's Bonnie?" He asked, noticing how Kent's every step was accompanied with a limp. "What's his problem? I mean, I know my scar isn't pretty, but he should've known better than to ask about it..."

Sighing, he gently took Bonnie from Max and held the possum close. Bonnie nuzzled into her owner happily, purring to comfort him.

"I'll walk home today. It'll help me blow off some steam." He finally said after a long moment of uncomfortable silence. "The landlord should be asleep by the time I get home anyway."
