Tam turned and frowned at Brandon the moment she saw Kent's reaction. Her first thought was "what fresh hell is this?" Eyeing the man with suspicion which only worsened when he looked over her and Chris.

"Gonna introduce me to your friend, Kent?" Tam asked, attempting to sound friendly yet still harboring a tone that said "Fuck with us and you'll regret it."

Max couldn't help but be somewhat entertained by Bonnie's shenanigans, but was also thankful when Mr. Andrews got her to drop the textbook. "Thanks."

"Seems Yazuhiko is an old family friend that was there for River when she went through a tough time. The fact he's only into men helped her to trust him back then."

Max looked to Yazuhiko with some surprise. "That so?" He bit his lip then tried to wave away the thoughts trying to enter his brain. "Anyways..." He looked to Serenity and Lisa. "...I want you both to read the next three chapters and write up responses to the questions I laid out for you both. Got it?" He then took Bonnie and stroked her fur. "Any questions?"

Lisa shook her head and smiled. "I'm good." Then she had a realization. "Actually, yes, is it okay if she and I work together? You know? Help each other out?"

Max shrugged. "I don't see a problem with that."

Lisa let out a happy squeak and looked to Serenity. "Wanna be study buddies?"
