Veronica merely smiled and shook her head. "It's my job, and I'm happy to do it." Then she tilted her head. "You work at the ice cream shop right? How about you get me a free banana split one next time I come in?"

Max was taken aback by Paul's words. Then he looked to Kevin's mom and shrugged before stepping to the side. "Sure... ah... come in..." Then he realized that Kevin had disappeared. "Give me a moment..."

Max soon found Kevin in the bathroom and smiled reassuringly. "Kev? He's not here to cause trouble. He ah... he seems to realize what a nutbar his daughter is. I think you should come out and talk to him."
