Sappy Brother/Sister Bonding

Tam grimaced, "I had to park it around the corner." She then smiled sheepishly. "Mind taking me over there to pick it up?" Then she looked to the apartment. "Actually, before that I want to look in on Chris and make sure it's okay I leave him with the girls a bit longer."

She then went up to the room Serenity had gotten ready for Chris and entered. The boy was awake and playing on a Nintendo Switch with a bright smile on his face that only brightened more the moment he saw his sister.

"Tam! I missed you."

"I missed you too, bud." Tam said as she took a seat at the bed next to him. "So... what do you remember?"

"I remember having fun with you and Serenity and River. Then we went home..." He sighed. "I don't know what happened after that. I woke up in the hospital."

"Has Serenity or River told you what's happening?"

The boy shook his head. "Not a lot, just that you're working for Serenity now and that we're moving in next door." He frowned. "Dad's dead isn't he?"

The silence that followed was heavy and dark. It took a lot for Tam to respond.

"He is..." Tam finally said.

"And he... he tried to hurt me..."

Tam sighed and took her brother's hand. "He's gone, now Chris. And I'm going to take care of you. Things will be better. I promise."

Chris smiled. "I know, you're a good mom." He chuckled.

"I hope I can be." Tam said.

"Speaking of mom..." Chris said as he put his game away. "I do know she came..."

Tam looked her brother in the eye. "And? Do... do you want to go with her?"

Chris shook his head. "She left us with dad. Didn't come to help us. And Dad hurt us both." He leaned in and in a hushed tone the boy said: "Fuck her." Then a grin formed on his face at having sworn. "Please don't tell River I said a naughty word."

Tam just laughed and tenderly hugged her brother. "I promise I won't." Then she frowned. "Why River?"

"I like her. I think she's pretty." Chris giggled.

Tam pinched his cheek. "Little Casanova..."

"What's a Casanova?"

"That's what you are. Mean's you have a way with pretty girls." Tam chuckled.

Chris giggle and yawned. "I'm feeling sleepy..."

Tam tucked him in. "Rest then. I have to run some errands. What do you want for dinner?"

"Pizza!" Chris exclaimed.

"I'll order some from work." Tam said with a smile as she got up. "You rest now, Casanova." Chris giggled and rest his head on his pillow. Tam then went out in search of River and Serenity and upon finding her with Serenity crying she looked worried at first. "Oh no something happen?"

Max shrugged. "She's my lawyer, Kevin. Renee will have to tolerate Bonnie. She won't hurt her." Then he noted how Kevin was reading his phone. "What's going on? Is Stefan okay?"
