Tam smiled and thanked River and Serenity for making breakfast while she struggled to eat. She didn't feel hungry. Her thoughts were still on Chris. However, she was also worried for Kent.

" I do need answers Tam Kent what is the story" Serenity asked.

Tam tried to eat her food still but jumped at the chance to find a way to avoid eating. "His dad... he's the one who made those bruises." She gestured to his arms. Suddenly she thought about what he was going to do tonight. She didn't want him to go back to his father, not after what happened to Chris. She wasn't going to let that happen to anyone, especially not Kent.

Max smiled. "I don't mind hanging with you at the shop. I can help out before I have to tutor Serenity."

He kept petting Bonnie. Smiling at her licks and clear appreciation of his affection. "Sound like a plan?"
