She asked the young boy with a kind smile and bit into her apple, trying hard not to be bothered by Max's presence. If she was going to get over her fear, even a tiny bit, she would have to grow accustomed to being around men again.

"Or, is there something else you would rather do?" She knew how easy it was for children to grow bored and wished she had brought along some stuff to keep Chris busy.

For now, she would simply try her best until Tam picked him up.
