Nowhere to Hide

They had jumped just in time to escape Zarand's fleet, it couldn't have been anymore close. Becc looked down and sighed, she was starting to feel like she spent most of her life on the run. Gemena walked up to her, he didn't seem impressed. "I told you we should have headed somewhere more secretive. Out of sight, out of mind."

"I get it Gemena, I messed up, I'll admit it. But they never should have found us on that world. I'm starting to feel like Oxus has some way of tracking me through the galaxy." Becc couldn't wrap her head around it. The underworld was well connected of course, but it was a big galaxy to hide in. Too big for any crime lord to always be on their tail.

"Oxus has eyes everywhere, we both know how expansive his network is. Are you forgetting that we used to be some of his eyes?" Gemena had to remind her that the two had grown up as some of the agents in the network. "You'll never outrun him." Zero-Esk emmited a sad long bleep through the ship's communications systems.

Becc had always felt as if Gemena had never quite gotten over his allegiance to the Hutts. The two of them were constantly disagreeing over things, no matter how minor they were. Sometimes it would feel like the whole crew were on the verge of splitting up. There was a silence for a minute. Then Becc stood up. "We at least have to try," she said, there was a tone of ambition in her voice. "I have had enough of Oxus, Zarand, and all the rest of them. I'm tired of hiding!"

"I am too!" Wonji growled as he entered, he stood defiantly beside Becc. "It's time we got out of this mess, once and for all," the Houk continued. Gemena looked at Wonji. What the hell had got these two so inspired suddenly?

"So how are you going to do it?" Gemena asked, he didn't sound as enthusiatic as the others.

"We take down Oxus's cartel from the inside," Wonji suggested. Becc Weldon was surprised, Wonji wasn't the one to usually make a well thought out suggestion. Zero-Esk bleeped positively.

"Where did that stroke of genius come from? I thought you would just suggest gunning him down?"

"I'm smarter than I look Gemena," Wonji barked.
